    A decent place to work.

    Vice President (Former Employee)
    Jersey City, NJ

ProsThey usually try to do the right thing (the trading scandals aside). The company is progressive. If you end up in a good niche in the company, you can learn a lot and benefit in your career.

ConsIt is a troubled institution right now and not a very fun place to work. There are not a lot of good managers, just individuals who worked their way up the ladder through outlasting other employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementLack of good management can create a sense of "doesn't anybody know what they're doing around here?". I understand you are a bank and control is important, but the bureaucracy is stifling and very counterproductive.

ProsDecent benefits, work/life balance. Work from home opportunities. All the resources of a huge company.

ConsNo organizational accountability. Millions wasted on politics and projects that never deliver. Way too much process that provides no or little value. Constant re-orgs, and shifting priorities

Global bank with opportunity to work in diverse business areas

    Vice President (Current Employee)
    Jersey City, NJ

ProsStable job environment. Lots of mobility options. Opportunities to work on new technology areas. Very good HR processes. Lot of communication from senior management through various forums and internal blogs. Opportunity to work with virtual teams spread across globe.

ConsStagnant career growth(vertical/compensation) if planning to stay at same location. Too much senior management overhead. Very difficulty to show results due to long and globally distributed management hierarchy. Performance bonus not typically linked to immediate achievements but more to business line and years with bank.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave to focus on retaining key SMEs in technology and product. Too much internal reorganization. Have to be lean to have focused IT delivery and mature products.

AVP, Very excellent company as an employer, they offer great benefits

    Assistant Vice President (Former Employee)
    Jersey City, NJ

ProsMy years at Deutsche Bank were very rewarding.
There is a balance of life/work experiences for working mothers. I was a single working mother with 3 children and the manager assisted me by giving me flexible working hours. This allowed me to work while my children were in school and I was with them when needed.
    Salary was good
The great managers were very conscious of the team members and worked with us to achieve our potentials in the department. There was always opportunities to cross train with other departments.

Conssome employees worked very long hours

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople makes the organization and this is the key and most important ingredient for a successful organization. Hence always be mindful to appreciate and compensate the employees for the work and accomplishments.
