I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Vacation time is generous, not restrictive with corporate card use to entertain clients/prospects, relatively easy to communicate with senior management, great people.

    Cons

Archaic systems, e.g. LOTUS NOTES!, no training except for analysts who don't deserve or appreciate it, bonuses are subjective. Bankers not held accountable for overspending or not producing results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TRAIN THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN LOYAL AND ARE ASKING FOR IT! REWARD LOYALTY AND MERITS WITH MORE COMPENSATION OR YOU WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE GOOD PEOPLE AND HAVE TO REPLACE THEM WITH MORE EXPENSIVE HIRES.
WHY HIRE OUTSIDERS AND PAY THEM A LOT MORE THAN THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES?

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work/Family balance is the best. Most of the people I work with are great.

    Cons

Promotions are slim. constant Performance reviews are 100% crap and useless. Managers change so often how can I get a legit review from my manager when it's change 3 times in a year,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to promote more within. Stop restricting currently employees from seeking other positions. Management greatly stifles and frowns on trying to go to another position.

I worked at Deutsche Bank as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Projects on-going for several Departments, very process oriented culture. Some of the project groups are good.

    Cons

Senior Management is only interested in cost cutting. Onboarding was a mess and extremely disorganized. Less leading the way in IT strategy and more following / catching up to the heard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your people and allow them to have a better work/life balance. It's the small things that people like and will keep them happy and more productive in long haul.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank

    Pros

Good pay, access to benefits, gym, prestige., great training.

    Cons

Pretty much everything else. Company is going in decline, lots of cuts especially in technology. The people working there are unmotivated and mostly boring. I'm definitely leaving this place.

    Pros

    Competitive salaries
    Good benefits
    Good lower level work force

    Cons

    Poor management
    Poor systems
    Long hours
Management does not listen to employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. The operational center point belongs to those employees who work on the day to day. Low level managers seem to have little to no clue on the process. Many hours are spent in meeting with a lot of talk, but action needs to take place.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Deutsche Bank has one of the largest graduate programs amongst all the investment banks, rotations allow you to try a few different areas before you settle on your desk

    Cons

Some of the managers who take on graduates just do it for lip service, it's sometimes difficult to land rotation that has good work, so even though the general idea of the rotation is to help you gain knowledge and good overview of several different areas, you rarely get that unless you end with a good manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Graduate program too long, evaluation needs to be 360 degrees like other banks in order to make managers accountable for themselves
