    Surrounded by smart and ambitious people

    Ambition dies here, people don't have the flexibility and freedom to realise their potential. DB does not care about your welfare as an individual, while managers relish in pitting employees against each other for not material gain. Low salary compared to the industry.

    Political and hierarchical
    Race discrimination- people stick to their own kind and lack of diversity. Local bank work environment rather than multinational bank.
    Process focused workforce - limited commercial vision
    Poor systems and even worse project management
    Big Bang approach to change rather than well planned and methodical- leads to wasted resources and frustrated employees when projects go live
    Unfriendly
    Zero work life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue the push for diversity and calling bad behaviours
    On the job training is not working - reinforces bad processes and there is ab underlying unwillingness to change. Need regular shake-ups and proper training for existing and new employees to limit attrition

    Best employee benefits package encountered in Singapore. Very family-friendly.

    No salary increment and low, low bonus. Promotions are competitive.

    Some very smart people
    Pretty diverse in some locations

    Cons

    Constant reorganisation, my team was merged and de-merged and re-merged almost every year
    Astounding amount of internal competition, people busier with taking credit than anything else
    Some extremely stupid people in extremely high places

    Unfriendly working environment. No one wants to share. Management is stifling.

    Don't send department wide emails telling people not to speak English in the common areas - that does not look good on your cultural diversity kudos. I'm 100% English and I'm ashamed to have experienced this.

    Major projects are based out of Europe, a lot of oursourcing to other countries, not much opportunities in Sngapore
