    Pros

The money is good, that's how they hook you in.

    Cons

Almost everything else unfortunately, which is sad because elsewhere in the world I'm told this company is great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't change compensation plans 2/3 of the way into the quarter. Try to understand that a balanced life really does make for a happier more productive employee. When a salesperson works hard to win a large customer they deserve the fruits of that labor. It's not right to give it to another person because you want that same salesperson to go out and win something else. I never worked harder in my life than when I was topping out on commission. That should be a lesson to you. Disgruntled employees quit, they don't work harder. I cut my teeth at DHL and thought I would work there forever. Even left and came back, that was a huge mistake. It is nowhere near the great company it once was. Management is rude and undercutting, they use up their once faithful employees. We meet together and talk about the old times. The group of us must have made billions for that company but upper management mismanaged things so badly that we went belly up. Then they asked so many of us back and treated us so cruelly. Don't go to work for this company. They cheat their employees at every turn.

I have been working at Deutsche Post DHL full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Expense account, salary, good benefits, travel for training, bonuses, ongoing formal personal development, great training management, easy to get approval for personal time, willing to pay for personal development courses/programs.

    Cons

Repetitive, no lunches or breaks, increasing responsibilities due to downsizing. The company is growing their international business and brought on many people to do so, but is getting rid of them to lean out. Union is frustrated with the fact that they left other jobs to come back to DHL, only to get occasional work. Management has to do more and more each day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cycle your employees through their different possible roles to cross-train them and drive down monotony.

I worked at Deutsche Post DHL full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

It would be better than no job at all.

    Cons

After working for the company for 21 years they released all the original employees and contracted out all their services to the lowest bidder. Compared to UPS and FEDEX, DHL projects an image of a comparable service but in reality the product provided is inferior to the competition. If you are looking for the lowest cost and lowest quality product then DHL is the company for you.
