I worked at Development Design Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great office environment with a few good principals to work with that show no hierarchy in team and give you an opportunity to grow. Overall friendly and peaceful culture at work.

    Cons

Baltimore is an unsafe place to live. Some imbalance in terms of foreseeing the inflow of projects vs hiring employees. If the projects do not go as planned, sudden decisions are taken to let go employees. Job security at this place is a tricky one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Offer job security.

I have been working at Development Design Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great benefits and salary
    - Made some good friends
    - unique office space
    - fun international projects
    - Good starting point in one's career

    Cons

    - Upper management is tough to understand - seem to pick favorites and throw others to the side that voice their opinion about something not healthy going on in the department
    - very political
    - not much room for growth
    - very long hours with tight deadlines
    - promises are made to clients and then employees are forced to work long hours to get it done quickly in the time promised
    - a lot of prospective clients/lots of talk, but then nothing happens or things fall through

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Actually try to mend problems/figure out a solution going on in certain departments
    - LISTEN to your employees when multiple people are coming to you with the same problem
    - be more sociable and interested in employees and push them creatively
    - Allow employees to have a chance to grow and succeed by offering them more responsibilities and helping them when you can see they're trying

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Talented staff and many of the managers are quality professionals, if a bit detached from the staff.

    Cons

Location, location, location. Office is nice, city is not.
Your a cog in a wheel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication, perhaps treat employees as more than a commodity.
