Pros
Work Life Balance
Pays well, with lots of benefits (defintely more than standards benefits)
Flexable work schedule, most people work from home one day a week
Great industry
Great company culture, the people in the office really make your work day enjoyable
Onsite bar, and every Thrusday there is a company sponsered social hour where you able to enjoy appetizers, music and a cocktail or two with your coworkers
Cons
Limited to no mobility in the Wines business, that's both laterally and upwardly
Large disconnect between Senior Management and the rest of the business as it pertains root cause problem solving and impact of decisions
Lacks diversity
Advice to Senior Management
If you want your people to remain engaged, you are going to have to make them feel valued, appreciated and part of the decision making process.
Pros
benefits, wine, good people, health benefits
Cons
politics, high turn over, lack of skill among leadership
Advice to Senior Management
reward internal talents
Pros
Great benefits, good people, friendly culture
Cons
broken communication, delays in decision making, top-down culture, pushback on decisions not really supported
Pros
Excellent benifits (med / dental / vision / Brand Ambassador Program), very nice offices and work surroundings, great wines and wineries (back then). VERY SAD! This could be such a great place to work!!
Cons
Management could not lead by example or walk the talk! If you were not a manager or above you did not exist and were treated as if you were invisible. (yeah the work got magically done!!) Manage by intimidation is completely acceptable at this company! Integrity is not high up on the list of traits for this management team.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to walk the talk! Lead by example! The most important asset of a company is its employees! HELLO!! A little praise on a regular basis would go a long way. A little credit allowed to roll down the hill would work wonders for moral. Problem is that management never follows up to see how far the credit flowed down (never makes it past manager level!)
Pros
This was a dynamic place to work for several years. Great products and smart people.
Cons
Corporate leadership of the parent company, (spirits), never really understood the wine business. When the going got tough, they bailed.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your people and products with the respect they deserve.
Pros
Great wineries, some great people. Great benefits.
Cons
Huge multi national corporation; collision of wine business with need for quarterly results.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to explain the wine business to Wall St.
