    OK place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Canton, OH

ProsGood pay and great personal work environment. It is peaceful and structured as well, but not very much changes to be honest. The work does not seem to be fickle, and it seems to remain the same every day with not very much change.

ConsPeople are not helpful or friendly and you do not get recognized for hard work. I feel that hard work is not recognized and no other options are available for people who perform well. There are not very many opportunities to do new tasks and it seems that the same tasks are performed every day.

    Depressing

ProsNot many pros at this point. Company used to care about its employees but not so much anymore.

ConsThere are no incentives. No appreciation for a job well done. Too much upper management. New CEO is bringing all of his buddies from HP on board. New CEO was charged with embezzlement from a former employer...yeah, let's hire him as our CEO!! Diebold has now partnered with an outsourcing company, which means the loss of more jobs. Never know from one day to the next if you are going to have a job. People that are left, that survived lay-offs and the early retirement that was offered, are now leaving the company anyway because the company is being run into the ground and there are better paying jobs out there. Upper management has no idea how to run the company or the how the job functions of the "lower class" employees are actually what keeps this company afloat. Big wigs only concerned with making money for themselves and don't care about the rest of employees, many who have dedicated many years of their lives to this company.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a better understanding of ALL departments to better understand how each plays a roll in the company's success. Outsourcing everything is going to ruin this company.

Poor leaders make for poor work environment

    Senior Internal Auditor (Former Employee)
    North Canton, OH

ProsBig employer in Canton, pay is average, decent working hours

ConsConstant layoffs means everyone is always on edge, company is in no-growth industry so fears of takeover are always imminent, leadership culture is embarrassingly poor.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou will never attract top talent with culture at all levels of the organization. Employees are not trusted and consequently do not put forward their best effort. Pay structure and constant layoffs are a serious disincentive to employee loyalty and quality results.

Constant layoffs, low employee morale, More managers than engineers

    Software Developer (Former Employee)
    North Canton, OH

ProsThe engineers you work with are smart, knowledgeable people.

ConsManagers that love meetings to act like they are helping with the project but are not.

Advice to Senior ManagementMeetings do not help, take down some of the red tape. Let people develop software that is not related to ATMs if you want the company to grow and not be gone in the next 5 years

On the wrong side of technology.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIt's nice to work out in the field.

Conshard work gains no benefit, bonuses tied to stock price only means of salary advancement.

    Complete Disconnect

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsEmployees want the company to succeed and keep each other going, instead of upper management.

ConsLeadership cannot pick a strategy and stick to it; it's like working for someone with multiple personalities. Corporate blatantly disrespects the field and there is such a lack of harmony and so many silos...with no regard to acknowledge or work on this. Fix the systems...we may be 154 years old, but our systems don't need to be as well. Morale is a mess and is on a downhill slide. Intranet site has never made sense.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate and implement systems that truly link information between corporate & the field. You would create confidence in leadership if you would SIMPLY carry out a strategy before scrapping it and looking for a new one. If you're lacking in interpersonal skills, you don't qualify for any job! Invest in your local management w/ training & reduce their workload. Stop talking out of both sides of your mouth. Fix your intranet; it's ridiculous trying to find information.

    Resigned Immediately

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Canton, OH

ProsUnfortunately, there are not many... There is a lack of leadership and they are stripping away every incentive. I recently started and resigned immediately. The culture is not a good one. It's every man for himself and no one is willing to pitch in and help. If they think adding purple and green paint to the walls will help morale, they better think again.

ConsAbsolutely no growth and development opportunities. Don't plan to advance. The morale is so incredibly low and everyone is so unhappy. They've recently taken away Merit increase and even that was not communicated. Certain departments are being outsourced and they had to hear about it in a press release. Please turn the other way if you have an offer with Diebold...

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on your people. They have so many loyal employees who have been employed with Diebold for a very, very long time. They'll leave. New hires will leave...

very fulfilling working atmosphere due to positive relationships between employees, management & customers

    Senior Service Technician (Current Employee)
    Memphis, TN

Prospositive personal relationships are standard procedure & unmatched by most employers. Company core values demand customer satisfaction as the singular key focus. compensation is above average for the industry.

Consjob imposes on family life too much due to all jobs still require "off-the-clock" work functions, despite this is against company policy.

Advice to Senior Managementsurvey employees at regular intervals for job improvement ideas to improve productivity.
