Pros
Digital Risk acknowledges that it is their employees that are important and make them successful and as a result, they do try to reward the employees with little incentives and recognize the employees that go above and beyond with awards.
For my position, they pay very competitively compared to other companies in Central Florida.
Cons
In my department, it feels like everyone is disconnected and there is no team collaboration. Everyone comes in, sits at their desk, does their thing, and then goes home.
The health care benefits are great for an individual but costs 20 times more for a spouse and child.
Advice to Senior Management
Have regular meetings with the team and have some team building activities. I don't think the managers always know the status of projects so there isn't always a lot of feedback on what to work on, however, being in a senior position, I am good about being able to manage myself.
Pros
Pending on your team, leads are very supportive
Cons
Tedious work can make it hard to work long hours, training they provide in the beginning doesn't really help
Pros
Lots of growth opportunities for hard workers
Bonus and incentive plans to reward production
Quiet work environment, everyone wears headphones and listens to their iPods or MP3s
Lots of different types of customized projects and clients
Have grown from start up with 6 employees to over 1,000 employees in 6 years
Biggest players in the industry rely on DR
Cons
They expect employees to act like grown-ups
Didn't have employee recognition programs until this year; now they have several every month
Advice to Senior Management
Not all employees realize how far the company has come in 6 years. Those of us who were unemployed when the housing market went bust really appreciate what DR has done for central Florida and the mortgage business nationwide.
Pros
Digital Risk is a fairly small but growing company with lots of room for expansion. The company performs forensic loan reviews, mostly for insurance companies (both insurance providers and also institutional investors - holders of mortgage backed securities), and thus employs mostly real estate professionals. The culture is very much corporate - with huge emphasis on production numbers and quality - but also pretty comfortable and casual provided that you do job. Good workers are appreciated and recognized, provided good feedback, and identified for promotion fairly quickly.
Cons
Organizationally, there is a lack of structure to the place, but this translates to less rigidity and a lot of personal freedom in how you go about your job. The real estate professionals employed are geared to focus on production numbers. Overall, company morale is below average.
Advice to Senior Management
Top-down communication is almost non-existent. Executives seem extremely busy and all in all not very personal. Company morale needs some work, and the overly-bright-and-cheery emails from time to time from the execs seem gimmicky and forced.
Pros
-Management will do whatever it takes to make sure no one falls behind in training
-Tons of feedback is given
- Relaxed atmosphere even with quotas
- Paid holidays
Cons
- part time workers are scheduled to work at night
- training moves at the pace of the slowest coworker
- have to ask team lead for permission to go outside
