I have been working at Dignity Health

    Pros

The pay is great and so are the people. I love everyone I work with.

    Cons

We are always out of supplies, management does not stick up for our department. Patient care should be first but they want us to meet time quotas and hurry as fast as we can to do what needs to be done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember patients come first not going cheap and rushing everything.

I have been working at Dignity Health full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Being the "Human Kindness" advertised by Dignity Health, The patient care part of this job make it truly satisfying. The Union contract provides a great salary, and benefits.

    Cons

As a staff nurse, be prepared to be treated as if you have been bought and paid for. Time keeping policies are down to the minute. You could be disciplined if you are one minute late. There is no autonomy, you are merely there to fill out the medical record, In some departments the "Medical Director" learns about their specialty in a 4 day course. As long as they are providing "billable services" management is happy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This isn't McDonalds. It is healthcare. Care is part of healthcare.

    I worked at Dignity Health

    Pros

    Management breeds ignorance
    Most shouldnt be there!

    Cons

Leaderships moral compass is way off!
HR is in bed with the directors.
Billing leadership has underhanded and kineiving.. They take your ideas and use them as their own and take credit for them!
No employee willing to talk because a huge bullseye will be on their back.
Carol and Jeanine have single handed my ran the billing dept to no employees, and they are blaming others for their own demise!
Optum 360 promotes employees that are low work performers, talk behind peoples backs and will stab U as much as look at you!
They threatened by talent and want it squashed!
    Pathetic place for employment!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start from scratch! It will be worth ur time!
Stay out of bed with HR! It won't help u in a lawsuit!

I have been working at Dignity Health as a contractor

    Pros

The hospital is small enough that you get to know may other workers in different departments. There is enough of a variety of cases that come through the ER that keep you busy but not over-worked. Easy commute and parking is a breeze. You cannot beat the weather which is always mild in Camarillo.

    Cons

Cannot really comment as I am per-diem but the Dignity Health corporation is widespread and has a good reputation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    No complaints with management.

    Pros

Benefits, including healthcare are very good. Salary is fair. The department I worked in had highly skilled RN's who were very good at their jobs.

    Cons

Frequent management changes led to unstable work environment, with a confusion of expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is key for everyone to be on the same page to accomplish the goals of upper management.
