    Pros

Recent change at the CEO position is very promising, encouraging and a "light at the end of the tunnel". Employees are friendly and welcoming.

    Cons

Lack of executive leadership, strategic plan and accountability as an organization. Lack of urgency, will and discipline (especially by the leadership) to enact change and reverse negative fiscal situation

    Advice to Management

Develop a corporate identity, and roll-out a strategic plan that employees can rally around. Implement a cultural and organizational change program.

    Pros

CEO John Spearman, is very professional.

    Cons

Needs to restructure management - especially Directors, and Managers. Many of them do not buy into the CEO's leadership values. The resistance is strong for those in key positions. There is very little consideration for who is hired for what positions. There are leaders (especially managers and directors) "trying to learn as they go along" but fall short....therefore the bar remains low - maintaining yesterday's norm. And I'm talking about the lack of basic functional skills. It's sad.

    Advice to Management

Might be too late...but stop extending the employment of your management barriers. There is an environment of "slick" talk - it sounds good.....but for God's sake look at the results. Like my mother says "all talk and no action"..... There is a culture where people "talk themselves out of trouble" ..... look at results..... please.

    Pros

The salary is average, the benefits are nonexistent, no raises in over 6 years.

    Cons

Lazy selfish Anesthesiologists, who treat CRNAS as slaves, their biggest goal is to find the nearest CRNA to relieve .them so they can go sit in the lounge. Heavy trauma cases.

    Advice to Management

Anesthesiologists need to be more efficient and less lazy

Working at Dimensions Healthcare System gave me the opportunity to interact with people of different cultures, including patients, and that gave me a sense of diversity

    Cons

There is a need to improve on patient satisfaction and everyone as a part to play.

    Advice to Management

In-service should be done frequently to address shortfalls experienced by nurses to raise the level of care for patients

    Pros

Leadership at Laurel Regional Hospital, Potential UMMS affiliation, Bowie Health Campus, dedicated employees with tenure, Cafe at Laurel Regional Hospital

    Cons

Finance leadership, lack of communication, lack of departmental knowledge, lack of basic finance skills, no organization, 25 day month end close process, no processes or procedures, no vision to improve or change processes, ideas and visions go ignored

    Advice to Management

I hope the CEO and CFO take a step back and look at the reasons why Dimensions has been failing for a long time. The management team lets employees who are an asset to the organization walk out the door, while the "dead weight" remains. Sometimes employees make a mistake, but you should work with and mentor employees, especially employees with an excellent reputation and HR record.

FYI - I resigned on my own and I wanted to leave an honest opinion for anyone thinking about leaving their job and going to Dimensions. I recommend waiting a year or two and let some changes take place.

    Pros

Opportunities develop quickly, somewhat endless if you choose

    Cons

Organization has not given a raise to their employees in over 2 years

    Advice to Management

The key to any relationship is the people. So my suggestion to management is to focus on the people who make your organization great from housekeeping to auxillary departments. Show them how important they truly are on a regularly basis.

    Cons

Get out of politics and focus on the community. The people in the area need help, and politics plays to great a role in decision making.
