Pros
Small so people know you, nice people at lower level, and location of new HQ.
Cons
~50% of empoyess are from same culture/same church. ~8% related to CEO somehow. Copy identity/flow from TI (not very original). Lack of basic resources for support. Too many manual systems. Bad senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat people with respect and digniity. Ask employees to speak English. Non-speakers left out socially and within team.
Pros
Good benefits (health insurance, 401k with employer match, paid vacation and holidays)
Decent work-life balance
Nice newer office building with gym
Free coffee and filtered water
Cons
Rigid hierarchy and "my way or the highway" management style
Preference given to insiders (family, friends, church members)
No opportunity for growth or development - promotions are unheard of
Almost exclusive use of Chinese alienates English speakers
Terrible morale due to management's lack of respect for employees
Low regard for integrity and ethics throughout the company
Advice to Senior Management
Be more inclusive of outsiders and more open to new ideas or suggestions. Taking away privileges is demoralizing...happy employees = better productivity.
Pros
I really cant think of any other reason except that we are in tough economic times
They have OK benefits
Cons
very high turn-over because of poor work environment thus you are constantly training a new person who might quit just after the training
Morale is very low thus not a good environment for productivity and creativity
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the employees when they make suggestions on how to improve the work place
Stop poor planning and last minute rush
Talking down to employees is a strategy that never works
Senior management stop hiring a new manufacturing manager every year each one of them introduces new policies that will take a year to implement then they are gone
Pros
nice collegues
some new technology development
Cons
no much challeges
Pay so so
Pros
None really. The Operators and Supervisors were some of the best people but they were severely limited by the tools they had to work with.
Cons
Upper management treats you like dirt. Too many meetings with not enough time to do any decent work in between. Horrible work ethics towards employees. Expected to be there 24hrs per day. Expected to have zero home life. Hugely high staff turnover including middle manager. Blame culture is the order of the day and the only way to survive.
Advice to Senior Management
Purchase a good wafer monitoring software system for the cleanroom. This one action would increase productivity and give time for all employees to work better/smarter, and would save so much time. Currently they run a paper traveller system which means you can hide wafers/yields easily, and spend many hours finding lots.
