Pros
Stable, Profitable, No day to day hassles
Cons
Not very enlightened management in developing professional staff and creating opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Create opportunities and some thing to look forward to for staff
Pros
Good benefits
People are friendly
No layoffs
"9 to 5" job
Cons
limited advancement opportunities
overall compensation package is below average
Advice to Senior Management
If a product is not ready to be released, don't release it, even if it means you will not get that big bonus
Pros
Logical plan to move the business forward implemented by mid/senior management means a prosperous future, and stable employment. Planned merger with Thermo Fisher mean additional opportunities ahead for the future of both Dionex and its employees.
Cons
Very lean personnel infrastructure can put unnecessary pressure on resources, creating short-term difficulty in delivery of support and services to customers. Situation is being dealt with however, and improving rapidly.
Advice to Senior Management
It must always be considered to ensure support infrastructure is in place and prepared before the use of the resource becomes necessary.
Pros
Professional Growth, Respectful colleagues, Competent management, Job security, Profit-sharing, $ to $ 401k
Cons
Low base salary for interns
Pros
Not pressurized atmosphere. Giving much independancy to do a job.
Cons
salary less than market rate
Pros
Stability - very stable company
Good products
Niche company - not much competition
Profit Sharing - Twice per year
401k match
Cons
Upper management not approachable
Way too much politics
Pay not in line with area
Favortism
Antiquated
Benefits extremely expensive out-of-pocket costs
Advice to Senior Management
Don't be afraid to listen to your employees
Managers cannot be afraid of confrontation - that's normal business
Profit Sharing is supposed to be an added benefit - not a supplement to your salary
Favortism is discriminatory - treat everyone equally
Pros
Unique company with a very interesting analytical technology, offers interaction with various disciplines. Friendly and knowledgeable co-workers, decent salaries and good benefits, reasonable vacation package. Overall a nice place to work, although may not be competitive in all respects with other nearby companies.
Cons
My particular discipline/specialty was not well represented at the company - most of coworkes were from a different scienticic branches. For the same reason, my work-product was, although important in one respect, a marginal one for the company as a whole. I felt that my work was not appreciated enough.
Advice to Senior Management
My past experiences are just that - past experiences. I have no knowledge if current employees experiences are the same or different than mine. If, however, not much had changed - please make sure you consider all support services as important to overall company success, in a manner at least in the similar ballpark as the mainstream research.
Pros
Stable and profitable. Have not had a layoff.
Cons
No career path, very slow to change, status quo valued above all else.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward people for their performance, take action when there are problems.
Pros
Senior Management is doing a fantastic job.
Good work environment
Good benefits
Cons
Too many levels of middle management, somewhat confusing and inefficient
Salary is below industry average for my position (Senior Service Representative)
Advice to Senior Management
Keep an eye out for clueless middle managers (service and sales)
Pros
Great place to work.
Great environment great folks!
Cons
Slightly lower pay but environment far outweighs this.
Advice to Senior Management
Great job building exectuive staff!
