Pros
There a very good Sr. Managers and Manages that know how to motivate there employees. There are people for every walk of life.
Cons
Being lead by the wrong manager who can make out his own mind as to what really need to get done and having to work harder not smarter.
Pros
Direct Alliance has several talented individuals working for them, co-workers are great to work with, they show professionalism and dedication.
The company does private label programs with major companies and if a program is shut down the company does everything it can to keep people employed.
Cons
The biggest downside is the compensation, since they are a third party the level of compensation is far below what equivalent positions would pay for the same responsibilities (at least 40%). There tends to be a revolving door because the company is in a position to hire very talented people due to the economy but they leave as soon as something better comes along. When the economy gets back to normal they will lose alot of talent and be forced to hire less qualified individuals.
Advice to Senior Management
Find a way to increase the pay, other than the compensation issues this is a good company if you are o.k. with staying in an account executive role.
Pros
Great people for the most part
Excellent training department
Casual atmosphere
Good benefit package
Relatively low stress
No issues with PTO requests
Cons
Used to be so much better
Very poor leadership from the top down
Tough to advance unless you're a "buddy"
Extremely high turnover
Advice to Senior Management
Remember your roots! DAC used to be a great place to work; people were treated fairly and paid well during the Insight years. Once Teletech acquired DAC, everything changed. The existing leadership was replaced with people from outside of the company, and their focus is on bringing in their friends to work for them in all upper level positions. Turnover is huge because there is little to no concern for the employees; everyone is viewed as a cog in a machine and easily replaceable. DAC used to be a very successful sales organization; now it's more customer service focused, which is why so many of the long-time clients have left.
Pros
Health insurance plan kicks in fast. A lot of opportunity for lateral movement. Limited supervision. Really low stress. Fun enviornment
Cons
Management does not always make the best decisions and commission plan is constantly changing for the worst. Very repetitive work.
Advice to Senior Management
Use common sense and stand up for what is right. Make business decisions like a business. Stick to one good commission plan
Pros
benefits after 30 days
they hire most anybody and rarely check references
Cons
because they hire m ost anybody, the quality of the overall work environment is bad
and management is NOT even remotely interested in improving
Advice to Senior Management
Hmmm kinda tough to leave a message to people whose behavior says at EVERY LEVEL they don't want feed back,
I've left my comments (unheeded) with them internally on a regular basis.
How about Reward people for Correct Behavior not just greedy behavior.
and secondly,
Reward with consistency . I know you are trying but your encouragements are CLIQUE based and arbitrary and inconsistent. Best of luck in gaining the consciousness required to match
the professionalism
of your holding company Teletech.
Pros
great people to work with and training was fantastic
Cons
There was a lot of internal changes while I was there which was distracting
Pros
Casual atmosphere, relaxed, fairly low stress
Cons
loud environment, low standards, don't feel comfortable giving feedback
Advice to Senior Management
better interface with supervisors
Pros
You can work with big name companies such as Google or IBM as an outsourced resource, although the pay is minimal and opportunities for advancement are few and far between.
Cons
Employee morale is poor. Most sales people's salary is only $24K, even if they have years of experience. Labor costs are the primary driver of the business, so every effort is extended by upper management to reduce compensation as low as possible, while keeping employees, to maximize profit for their parent company Teletech. When strong performance results are achieved, resulting in profit to Direct Alliance, many times i have seen sales commissions actually be decreased. Teletech is at great risk when the economy rebounds of losing a significant portion of their underpaid workforce who will jump at the opportunity to work for a more professional company, with better morale at higher pay.
Advice to Senior Management
As with many companies, the singular focus on the current quarter's results are detrimental to the long-term health of the business. Employee morale is the lowest I have ever seen at any company, a symptom of the low pay and authoritative and archaic methods used to ironically promote employee productivity. There are a few very good executives and director level individuals, but without drastic changes in the hierarchy and business practices, Direct Alliance will become obsolete.
Pros
The company is growing in leaps and bounds, and the management is the most fair and consistent with most if not all of their employees. The company is concerned with the balance of their employees work life and outside life. The company is also truly an open door policy operation. I have not once felt I could not speak candidly if an issue had arose. All in All this company is really a wonderful place to work.
Cons
The company is growing so space is limited. Parking is kind of a pain. The break rooms are clean and comfortable maybe some new products in the vending machines. Over all, not much to complain about.
Advice to Senior Management
My advice to management, well I have only been employed by DAC for a few weeks now so I will simply say keep doing what you are doing it's working. I am grateful to have this opportunity in a new career.
Pros
Great coworkers, great program leaders, great atmosphere - if you're a salesperson there's always a job for you here - variety of programs
Cons
Not the greatest medical benefits - ok but not great. Sales base salaries have declined and commissions have started to be capped
Advice to Senior Management
Base salaries and decent commissions are key to keeping good salesreps. Programs need to be set up to keep good salesreps around
