Employee oriented company

Collections Agent, Trainer (Former Employee)
Brackley, England (UK)

I worked at Direct Legal and Collections

ProsThey are an employee oriented company. Focused on training, development , and support for all departments and levels of the company. Most of the management is fair and willing to work with you when life rears its head (such as schedule changes and time off). You are contracted specific hours and not scheduled on a weekly or by weekly bases. DLC has a standardized pay grade that is common knowledge to all employees. It is great because you also know what you need to do to get to the next pay grade. Good work is acknowledged. There is a bonus scheme as incentive for hard work

ConsIt can be stressful and as a collections agent you will take a lot of battering from debtors. If you are not careful you can feel the work is to scripted and routine.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to invest in your employees they are the key to success.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

DLC, Brackley

Telephone Debt Negotiator (Former Employee)
Brackley, England (UK)

I worked at Direct Legal and Collections

ProsIts location
The people are very friendly and there is a strong team atmosphere
The newly built offices make it a comfortable place to work

ConsThe nature of the debt collection business makes it an unpleasent environment to work in
Very robotic in terms of script when speaking to debtors and if you deviate off script to tender the needs of the situation you are pulled up for it in training reviews.
Long stints on the dialler system.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo retain staff there should be a commission structure in place as alot of the skills you learn at DLC can be transferred into a sales environment where you can earn alot more money for alot less grief from customers.
