As an intern you are always extra help, so when you are there the pharmacy is fully staffed and life is easy.

Cons

Pharmacists at drug mart aren't as stringent as I've seen elsewhere, which means a lot of learning pearls go by the wayside.

Advice to Senior Management

Don't you think the district supervisor position should be someone with a high level of friendliness?

Pros

Wonderful dedicated people working in store. Extremely friendly, treat customers like friends and family. Relatively low stress. Day one benefits.

Cons

This has got to be the least technologically advanced company I have ever seen in my entire life. Company would save millions of dollars instituting a real computer system. Many/most reports are hand written. There are wasted reports on top of reports that waste time and paper that could be simplified with technology. Company is very cheap, giving only a half hour and a fifteen minute break for a 13 hour day. Talk all you want about valuing your employees, but any company open on Thanksgiving and Christmas is more greedy than wanting to treat their people well. Area Supervisor would come in once a week like a little mouse and never even acknowledge employees at all including myself as a new MIT. Grow a pair. You should have a more vested interest in the training program and new hires.

Advice to Senior Management

Put some money in your stores and you will get it back, especially with a more user-friendly computer system. Step into the new millenium. Review many of your policies as most are outdated, make no sense or irrelevant. Could be a great company, just need a NON-Drug Mart person to come in and open your eyes to a better way of doing things. Take care of those employees, they deserve better..........just too naive to realize it.

While it is important to cut costs, don't cut back on tech help. This has set Drug Mart apart as a good place for pharmacists to work
