Great Culture

Team Leader (Former Employee)
Phoenix, AZ

I worked at Discover Card full-time for more than 10 years

ProsWorklife balance, incentive pay and recognition if you're a top performer.

Conshigh pressure for performance expectations; managers will coach you if you're not a top performer but if you can't handle the pressure then this may not be the company for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementHold each other accountable to live the company values. Most managers are good at living the company values and being the face of the company but some managers get away with not living the values. It's really bad when the one who gets away with it is the senior managers.

Great Place to work

Account Manager (Current Employee)
New Castle, DE

I have been working at Discover Card full-time for less than a year

ProsExcellent place to launch your career. The benefits are excellent and the pay is decent. It is a great place to work if you are a team player. There is constant feedback on performance so you will always know how you are doing and in which areas you need to improve. You start out with 10 weeks of training because there is a lot to learn and compliance is a major focus. There is plenty of room for growth and opportunities to advance. I love that you start out with 20 days PTO for full-time employees. The culture is a that of a team/family and I like that there are employees that have been with the company 20+ years and still show up to work with a smile. DC is by far one of the best companies to work for in the US. They honestly care about their employees.

ConsThe pay could be better however it is better than the average for this area. You have to develop thick skin to deal with rude customers. Other than that, I have no other cons.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon' t ever veer away from the culture that you have created. It is essential to the overall success of DC.
