Pros
interesting work, friendly environment, close to home
Cons
working time is not free
Pros
There are some good perks, private screenings of new shows, etc.
Cons
Not enough caring about each individual, just getting the job done and not caring about the employee.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to care about your employees more and just spend time talking to them and helping them to grow in their jobs.
Pros
Fast-paced, cutting-edge environment working with strong, nationally-known show brands and talent.
Many talented co-workers.
Access to pretty much anything in the entertainment industry due to the Disney and ABC names.
The Silverpass (free Disneyland/Disney Parks access)!
Excellent benefits.
Oppotunities to work on innovative projects (but could be moreso).
Cons
Highly political.
HR is there to protect the company, not act on your behalf as an employee.
Advancement opportunities decrease as you move up.
Pace can be punishing, and negatively affects work-life balance (but that's TV, not Disney-ABC as such).
Splashy achievements often recognized and rewarded over solid, year after year "get 'er done" work.
Advice to Senior Management
Go beyond HR/PPR lip service and really seek out feedback from employees, junior and senior alike. Recognize the shortcomings of senior management as much as any critique of the performance of your direct reports. Work harder to curb internal politics.
Pros
Benefits are good compared to many, from what I'm hearing.
Cons
Incompetent management with unrealistic expectations.
Advice to Senior Management
Have more respect for long term employess and more value of their suggestions.
Pros
big company, good benefits, nice co-workers
Cons
do not expect to be able to retire from there. If you're not with the "in crowd" you will be treated poorly
Advice to Senior Management
know how to do the job the the department you are supervising
Pros
Salary
Feedback
Working with talented post production team
Cons
Long hours but no longer than other studios require.
Mine was a project based hiring - no guarantee of additional movies.
Pros
Overall, well managed division and departments.
Cons
Meetings on top of meetings. Slow pace of innovation.
Advice to Senior Management
Force better collaboration between teams.
Pros
Good line on your resume and you meet some really good people. Overall a fun place to work. Only reason I left was because it shut down during bad economic times
Cons
Very corporate and very stressful. It felt like someone was breathing down your neck at all times. Difficult to discuss ideas that may be helpful to company.
Pros
A fantastic company that cover a multitude of businesses
Cons
A very large company difficult to maneuver through
Advice to Senior Management
tbd
Pros
They have a campus relations program.
Cons
The manager of campus relations is not responsible and does none of her own work. She is never present and hands all her work off to interns. The processes and programs are not well constructed or professionally managed. Overall its a poor disappointment that Disney has given this kind of responsibility to someone who really isn't raising the high bar in this competetive market.
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of the Campus Relations Manager and get someone in there who can drive the program, and isn't concerned with working off site.
