I worked at Disney ABC Television

    Pros

Great product - good perks (Disneyland/World Admission). Disney is a big company, so once you get your foot in the door - it's a lot easier to stay and move around internally. Employee enrichment program where the company funds a trip related to your line of business.

    Cons

Sometimes long hours and strong personalities. Employee enrichment went from $1,000 to $500 - pretty much just pays for the flight. Pays a little less than other studios because it's 'Disney' and they can get away with it.

Former Employee - Broadcast Operations in Burbank, CA

I worked at Disney ABC Television full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits, silver pass to resorts and parks, holiday pay and double time. Excellent commuter and public transportation incentive program. That's about it

    Cons

Voluntary lunch waiver which is actually not that voluntary. Low salary. Horrible office culture. Managers will throw you under bus literally if they could. Treatment and low morale of employees which is just depressing and doesn't make you want to stay long there. Thankless and boring job but that is the nature of broadcast network operations which are fully switched to automation now. Red tape i.e. need approval from 7 bosses to reboot your PC that just crashed.

I worked at Disney ABC Television full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The perks and incentives provided to employees annually helps (Disney family vacations, tuition reimbursement, professional training support).

    Cons

Climbing the departmental ladder is almost impossible. People rarely leave their positions and promotion is a bureaucratic tango.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversify entry level positions and create a internal apprenticeship/mentor program with execs and intermediate positions.
