Advice to Senior Management
LISTEN
Pros
Great perks (free entrance into parks, free family and friend pass), discount. Everyone is happy and pleasant to be around.
Cons
Work schedules varies. Sometimes you don't get enough hours. Unlikely to get off on holiday (if you are an intern).
Pros
Cast members get free park admission all year long, and get a limited number of passes to get family or friends in for free as well
Helping guests have wonderful vacations and getting smiles out of young guests make for very rewarding moments, especially if you have to work long hours and/or on holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas included)
Cons
It can be hard to get days off
Working holidays is almost unavoidable
Guests can sometimes be irritable and tough to deal with
Advice to Senior Management
Give plenty of feedback to Cast Members. Positive reinforcement is great, but don't use GSF cards so much that they completely lose their specialness.
Pros
Lots of Perks and benefits. You learn a lot!
Cons
They are very strict about the employee behavior in public and at work place too. Which is actually a good thing!
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Fun and exciting place to work; part attractions and part entertainment
Cons
Management is not looking out for you
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on complimenting as much as reprimanding
Pros
The benefits and the people are the best reasons to work at Disney Parks & Resports.
Cons
The beauracracy and the politics can make it difficult to get things done.
Pros
- work with people from all over the US/the world
- free admission to parks
- free transportation to and from work
Cons
- nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get time off
- pay barely allows you to live
- treated with zero respect from other Cast Members
Pros
Very large company; plenty of opportunities; fantastic for Disney lovers; inevitable access to behind-the-scenes aspects of Disney (for work); plenty to learn when pursued (in most cases)
Cons
Quality of work is very dependent on team and location; management is plagued by large-corporation problems, particularly with communication, which leads to wasted time and meetings to handle miscommunications
Advice to Senior Management
Your employees want more than a pizza party every once in a while; take more advantage of the enormous resources behind Disney--the culture should not just feel like any other big corporation; simple name changes for promotions should also include pay raises and/or other valid incentives; listen more to employees and communicate these changes more clearly, quickly, and consistently
Pros
The people are great and try to do their best to provide a quality experience.
Cons
There are those that get the $$$ and then there's the rest of us just getting by week.to week.
Advice to Senior Management
Please pay your people better and I'm not talking about the executives!
