    Great company, insecure people

I have been working at Disney Publishing full-time

    Pros

It's a great company to work for: the energy is fun, the people are nice, the perks are awesome...

    Cons

In my personal experience, my manager, who's been with the company since the past 20 years or so, comes across extremely insecure and is a big bully. She's the only reason I can't enjoy this work place.

I worked at Disney Publishing (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This was a great place to work, mostly because of the people. It was like one huge family, and people truly cared about one another. The work was fun - mostly because it was tied into a movie or some Disney property.

    Cons

Not many cons, but there were some bad apple managers in the bunch, and upper management, while aware of the problems, would choose to do nothing about it. HR and management too often let bad managers continue their bad ways, at the expense of the employees.

I have been working at Disney Publishing full-time

    Pros

This review is for the Digital group. Perks include Disney on the resume, Disney benefits, free park tickets, nice new Glendale campus, some great co-workers.

    Cons

Weak leadership, constant re-org, strategic ego-stroking, no inspiration, overall toxic environment, lots of fear-based decisions, management acts like they're on your side but actions prove otherwise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The way you're operating is not sustainable. Treat your employees better and focus on quality rather than quantity.

I have been working at Disney Publishing

    Pros

    Disney benefits, pay, time flexibility
    It's Disney on the resume

    Cons

Management not necessarily competent, weak leadership
Too many org changes, too often
Always too many cooks in the kitchen, awful (non)decision making attitude, risk adverse and lack of decisions period, which result in people wasting their time in pointless meetings

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make Decision. Manage the business, not only the Politics.
