Former Employee – worked at Disney full-time
Pros – I found a better company.
Cons – IMO it's all politics, games and fear. A nightmare of overworked zombies constantly afraid they are going to lose their jobs. Disney's is great until you work for them. They claim they are all about the work/life balance, but just try to take time off and not worry about who is trying to steal your job or take credit for something you did.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop treating your workers like dogs. Fix your A/P department-they are horrible!

Current Employee – been working at Disney full-time
Pros – silver pass...that's pretty much it
Cons – The intern that I trained just got hired full time and now makes the same salary that I do. I have 5 years of experience- this is what I get for being a loyal and patient employee. As of today, I will spend all of my time at work looking for other jobs, interviewing for other jobs, printing my resume using the office printer, and eating the free snacks. I could care less if this place burns down to the ground.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay oblivious, I like you better this way.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Disney
Pros – Met some friendly and talent people both on business and creative sides
Cons – Had some unpleasant experiences with a few Disney employees. Rude, self-centered, manipulative and extremely unhelpful. Because of these negative experiences, I would never work for this company again.
There were also too many Directors and VPs and not enough Manager and Coordinators to do all of the work.
Advice to Senior Management – Evaluate the upper management employees who have been with company awhile, especially on teams with HIGH TURNOVER. There is a reason that employees do not want to work with them and transition to other departments.

Former Employee – worked at Disney full-time for more than a year
Pros – Complimentary theme park tickets, that's about it.
Cons – Fixation on EPS instead of value creation. Management does not care about employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on value creation instead of cost-cutting. Realize that failing to reward/promote high-achieving employees turns into a hidden cost when same employees decide to leave.

Current Employee – been working at Disney as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – Fun place to work if you can get around the lies
Cons – Management is dishonest, contractors are treated like crap, and the place is inhuman.
Advice to Senior Management – Start being honest and working with your employees, not against them.

Former Employee – worked at Disney full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – A fun job making magic for Guests. Lots of opportunities to experience and enjoy the theme parks.
Cons – Poor leadership and career mobility. Promotions based on networking as opposed to actual accomplishments and/or ability to lead cast members to achieve goals.
Advice to Senior Management – Upper management needs to really see what is going on by dropping in on operations unannounced as opposed to highly communicated visits where EVERYBODY knows when they are coming and they are provided with a false view of operations.

Former Employee – worked at Disney full-time for more than a year
Pros – Convenient downtown location
Colorful office decor, nice seats
Two monitors per workstation
Free coffee & juices
Cons – Closed, political environment. (Two people interviewed me - a lead who is Caucasian and the group manager who is Indian. Normally that wouldn't matter but boy oh boy does it! I am sad to report that racial issues exist, even at Disney.) Proof: data warehouse (DW) team is 90% Indian. Disney online (DOL) development team is 90% White. DW manager is Indian. EOL manager is White.
Slow to get things done / implemented.
Advice to Senior Management – Do something about the closed, political environment. It's a fact that the entire Indian engineering team spends most of their day watching YouTube. It's a huge problem at Disney.

Former Employee – worked at Disney full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – learn the ability to smile while driving the KNIFE deeper. get a reality check that the MAGIC has died . sell cheap merchandise to give false dreams to small children and adults alike .
Cons – realize that Uncle Walt is spinning in his cryogenic chamber at the mess that has been made of his dream.
Advice to Senior Management – Remember the definition of family. reward dedicated and loyal cast members , do not feed the hungry machine off their flesh.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Disney as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – The only good thing about working at Disney was the salary. Their compensation is very generous.
Cons – - Management is incredibly poor from the top down. You will feel like a character in Office Space.
- The culture encourages employees to "throw each other under the bus"
Advice to Senior Management – This studio should probably just be closed. Considering the number of years the project has been under way and the number of times the product has been trashed and restarted, it's unlikely to break even let alone be profitable.
