    Pros

Do the work and you'll have Job security for as long as you want to stay.

    Cons

Don't expect any raises. What you get, is what you get. Also, your responsibilities will increase with no change in pay.

I have been working at Document Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are willing to hire "risky" candidates. Great for someone who needs a job with poor qualifications on paper.

    Cons

Maximum amount of flex PTO of 15 days (only after working here for 3 years) 10 days before that. ZERO opportunity for growth. Job grades are not even established. Do not expect to grow here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like people. Take their needs seriously to retain talent. Establish employee grading standards and hire managers with management experience. Give people room to grow.

I worked at Document Technologies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I had the opportunity to learn so much in a fast-paced industry. The location was ideal. The days flew by from being consistently busy.

    Cons

Compare to the amount of work I was doing the pay was abysmal. Sometimes I felt overworked. Some of the responsibilities were pretty labor intensive. The management was very selfish and did not take into consideration the welfare of the lower employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees. It doesn't always have to be monetary. The people who work there aren't slaves!

I worked at Document Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good people. The people at the local level were fun to work with. I do miss them.
The work, although very stressful, was challenging at times.
Lot of big name firms as clients, but most the work doesn't funnel through the local offices

    Cons

The benefits are horrendous. 5 days off your first year of service and it increments by 5 until your third year when you max out at 15. The days off weren't even really days off as I was expected to clock in to work on projects while I was on vacation. No respect for time off that was given.

Overtime was decent but not nearly as much as I was promised in the initial interview. It was also CONSTANTLY scrutinized and questioned. If you don't want me to do the overtime work, then simply don't authorize me to do it.

Sales reps refused to turn down work and would always underbid the projects so that they would get the job. Seemed to be more of an emphasis on going out and having a good time than bringing in substantive work.

Salaries are also well-below competitive rates and management was always trying to add more job duties to people that already didn't make a decent wage.

Despite bringing in billion dollar accounts, corporate preferred to scrap by with the bare minimum as far as equipment and would then blame employees for missed deadlines and machines breaking down. Meanwhile, the founders are making millions.

No real serious training. Very much a learn this by the seat-of-your-pants environment.

The entire company, from the top down, seemed to have a "never say no to our clients" attitude.

High amount of turnover because the company doesn't know how to keep good people. A wise man once said: "A great employee should never have a reason to leave..." So not true at this place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's pretty much nothing to say to management that hasn't already been said. It will just fall on deaf ears.

I worked at Document Technologies full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great low level co-workers - very dedicated. Never a dull moment

    Cons

Upper management requires you to work long hours and be on call 24/7. They then take bonuses away from you without notice. Very poor

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge the dedication that your employees have to the company and your clients. Realize you need to reward them for their dedication. There are plenty of other companies in this industry that respect and appreciate their employees.

    Pros

Will take almost any one off the street and assist teaching the basics and maybe a few advanced skills, but that would be rare.

    Cons

Corporate is bad, no standards across offices, their attempt at being global is being held back by not being consistent between offices for data for the same client.
Pay is horrible, but works if you are desperate.
Unable to compete with salaries of other companies, especially when trying to retain talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try harder to retain talent and pay accordingly, it does wonders for morale and you have someone who can help the company grow.
