I have been working at Doe Run full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Excellent pay and benefits package.

    Cons

Micromanagement. Policies vary between departments which results in an unfair work environment for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should put more qualified individuals in Supervisory/Technical positions. Invest in making employees more satisfied/comfortable. Studies show a happy employee is a productive employee.

I worked at Doe Run full-time

    Pros

They provide health benefits and 401K. Production bonuses are also provided depending on the year. The men who work in the mines seem to get along well. They provide plenty of breaks to the men as well.

    Cons

They don't have time to train anyone on anything, so whatever job you get there, make sure you already know how to do everything yourself. If you aren't a corporate employee, they do not care about you at all. They have a lot of useless higher ups working for corporate upper management. Don't worry, they won't clean house there. The lower levels will always get the boot first.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Doe Run

    Pros

Strong, steady leadership committed to doing the right thing.

    Cons

The industry suffers from a negative image. The company traces it's roots back 125 years when lead mining was not as aware of its impact on the environment as it is today. Doe Run's commitment to mine lead responsibly and correct mistakes made generations ago are generally not understood or appreciated by the public at large. Its an easy target if you don't take a closer look.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate the positive more often. Celebrate the successes!
