    Pros

Good staff and coworkers and overtime pay.

    Cons

Transition into Hertz is a bit uncomfortable but it'll be great once it's complete this year.

    Pros

IT management was solid with a good strategic plan

    Cons

Terrible outsourcing policies. They laid off their whole internal IT staff and vended the work out. When the plan didn't work they trickled the work back in.

    Advice to Management

    Marketing strategies are unrealistic.

  3. Good place to work. People are nice. Workload is very reasonable.

    Pros

Work-life balance is good. Managers understand and don't give flack when you need the time off, even on short notice. Benefits package is about average for the area.

    Cons

Sometimes there are time constraints, but they can be planned around.

    Pros

Schedule flexibility in some departments was awesome. Laid back atmosphere and business attire. Good community responsibility. Better pay than majority of the industry in some departments. No pay raises for 3 years until Hertz acquired them--then a whopping 3%.

    Cons

Acquired by Hertz so small company atmosphere is gone. Benefits are too expensive! Stingy with their paid time off. No training or feedback.

    Advice to Management

Provide feedback to your employees about the jobs they perform.

Before Hertz, this was a top company to work for...now...forget it.

    Pros

Before Hertz, there were a lot of great people who worked very hard to take the company from a .60/share losing cause to a viable $85/share winner. Those people were not appreciated and were either terminated -- or in many cases -- they ran when the first opportunity appeared.

    Cons

Dollar Thrifty Board of Directors and former CEO milked the employees for their life's blood and sold out...lined their pockets and walked -- or rather skipped -- away. Hertz DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE BRANDS. They want Dollar and Thrifty to fail, they only wanted the great monetary/liquid assets. They forgot what built Dollar Thrifty into such a prize.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look around. You're next.

    Pros

Definitely, the people are the best. I loved going to work every day to be with my work family.

    Cons

Most recently, the Hertz merger caused job insecurity. Headquarters moved to Florida and employees are not confident of the longevity of the Tulsa offices.

    Advice to Management

I would advise management to not judge a person by one mistake. While it wasn't me, I am aware of specific targeting of employees. Not ALL management is like this though!

    Pros

If you're lucky and are offered a position in the new Florida office -- if you're able to relocate -- Dollar Thrifty can be rewarding. There WERE good people there.

    Cons

HERTZ swallowed up Dollar Thrifty and spit out the really good things about working there. Actually, I guess that honor goes to Dollar Thrifty's former CEO and Board of Directors. I've never seen so many Gordon Geckos.

    Advice to Management

Hertz - There's a very good reason Dollar Thrifty was the ONLY car rental company making a profit the last two years -- the people. We worked incredibly hard under depressing and unrewarding (ultimately) circumstances all to line the pockets of a few shareholders. Shame on them -- and shame on you.

    Pros

Good benefits, nice people, casual work environment

    Cons

New CEO does not care about employees. Laying off most of the DTAG headquarter employees since acquisition in mid 2013. Will only get worse as time progresses. I used to love working here until Hertz took over.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to make DTAG brands fail and make it harder for the current employees left. The company is losing great talent with many years of experience.

    Pros

Good, knowledgeable people to work with; most are trying to be enterprised focused for the improvement of the entire company.

    Cons

Some pockets of strife between IT and the business remained after Dollar and Thrifty joined to be ONE company; also I had several managers in a relatively short time, which made for some ambiguity associated with methodology.

    Advice to Management

Always be straight with employees and follow through on mandates with upper management of the domains.
