    Pros

Its a good place to work only if your there for a short period of time like seasonal. If your thier for long-term employment good luck thats all Im going to say.

    Cons

The Downside of working at Dollar Tree is the stale, repetitive work, low-hours, and has been downsized extremely in the last few years.

    Advice to Management

The management are selective in giving their employers hours,, choosing mostly family and friends regardless of thier work performance.

    Advice to Management

Management need to treat employees with respect and appreciation. All employees need to work their tasks not just some.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time

    Pros

It's a job nd a very small paycheck. Been with dollar tree over two years. Have had one raise. Work just as hard as people at Aldi but they get paid way more. I get the profit margin stuff. The only thing keeping me there is the flexibility of scheduling. The manager is nice but not a great manager. I have a great work ethic, not everyone does so the rest of the employees including some management don't pull their weight and get away with it. Ya get what ya pay for. They do not do anything for the cashiers who unload the truck, put out freight, recover the store all while greeting and ringing out customers. all for minimum wage. The store gets trashed everyday by the customers we have to fix it

    Cons

pay sucks corporate decisions suck. I say some guy sits at a desk and sends his wife to the store and makes all these dumb decisions

    Advice to Management

If your hired to manage then manage. Pay your good employees what they are worth.

    Pros

The base pay is below average for the industry. They try to compensate with cash and stock bonuses. As an ops manager you have autonomous control of the facility. If you can get hired just act like you care but don't rock the boat. There is no genuine accountability for the managers that report to you. You get to wear shorts and gym shoes during the summer.

    Cons

You will work a minimum of 12hrs a day with a 6 day work week for months on end. If you want a weekend off you will be forced to take a vacation day. Onboarding consists of you sitting in a room by yourself for 6 hours watching videos. Employee turnover is high due to strict company policies and mandatory overtime for the associates. Associate minimum production requirements are considerably lower than department goals?? Don't expect to receive any compensatory time even when you work over 30 extra days per year. The company has ZERO scheduled holidays, and you will work them all.

    Advice to Management

Teach your senior management team to work together and give legitimate guidance. Make your associates have the same expectations as your department goals. Get your HR managers to come out of their office and spend time IN the operation.

  8. Overtime is required you WILL die! heavy lifting for everyone. Crappy break periods.

I worked at Dollar Tree full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid... enough said?

    Cons

everything. especially managers of any type. Youre better off being a full time cashier here. No A/C in the summer manual labor and anyone that isnt a manager gets hours slashed without even second thought. If u are okay with all of this then i guess this is the job for you. this company is a joke lol

    Advice to Management

You can do wayyyyy better than this. How is that highschool diploma working our for you?

    Cons

bad work hours had to come in at 6 am sometimes to unload shipments. some customers were very unpleasant for no reason or a bit crazy. the pay was not worth the work i was putting in.

    Advice to Management

i was pretty happy with my management.

    Pros

    every thing is a dollar.

    Cons

no pay for associates or hours. managers do a lot with no resourses as payroll.business could do better, look better if only payroll was given. managers work over 60 hrs a week.

    Advice to Management

pay more to associates so they stay and do a better job.give some pay roll hours to manager so they have nicer ,fuller and happy stores.

    Pros

Its a Job and has Steady work...

    Cons

The managers show favoritism Male managers hit on the female workers It seems like making quota isnt good enough You can easily get fired if you are new Some employees are immature and classless and managers find it entertaining They take advantage of the temp service process They use the temps for odd jobs with no intent to hire them long term.................I could go on and on.
