I have been working at Dollar Tree

    Pros

As a full time manager or store manager you get monthly bonuses depending on your sales. It's an okay job to start in but as far as trying to be a manager the pay sucks

    Cons

Pay can be a lot better. As an assistant part time only gets $1 more than an associate. And full time gets about $2.25 - $ 3 more

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your a billion dollar company and bought out family dollar. You can afford to pay your employees a lot more for what is expected from them.

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, Hours, shift choices, hard working and friendly co-workers.

    Cons

Extremely disorganized and hold equipment operators accountable for it. Want you to put away 22 pallets per hour....pallets are half wrapped (safety hazard), unloaded 5 minutes away from destination (incompetent managers), floors have cracks in them that cut off your lifts. They do everything in their power to deter you from getting your performance bonus and retaliate with performance corrective actions if you speak up. Favoritism is highly visible, some of the managers are extremely lazy and only care about their earning potential. Instead of training you how to do your job in a their self inflicted disorganized environment, they would rather get rid of you. Its less work they have to do. Help Us Help You!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to your operational manual. Every company has one, it was made for the success of every company. You veer away from it destroys the company. You shouldn't be begging employees to stay, it should be very hard for new applicants to get hired because your current employees don't want to leave.

I have been working at Dollar Tree

    Pros

The best thing currently is my store team. Dollar Tree is cutting payroll to save money and, if you don't have a good team, it is very hard to get the job done.

    Cons

Dollar Tree is trying to still maintain the $1.00 price point to the detriment of store operations. Getting basic supplies, proper payroll, etc. to get the job done is getting harder. The company is losing direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop cutting payroll so much. Invest in the stores in the equipment to get the job done and you will increase the productivity. Allow managers more latitude in scheduling, they know the needs of their own stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shut down the company or completely reorganize.
