I worked at Donna Karan as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I got real tasks, even as an intern. Not just getting coffee and filing.
We were let out early if there was no work for us to do. Some bosses kept their interns for no reason, sitting there.
LMVH also does events with all the interns, which was different and nice

    Cons

It would have been nice for discussion of further job/full-time opportunities there.
Even more work to do would have been nice too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Still some things to improve on with the internship program

I worked at Donna Karan as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Most people are very friendly, want you to learn, able to do"interesting" activities in addition to office work such as field trips to Allure magazine and events at Bergdorf's.

    Cons

Some people can be demanding and short but that is expected, doesn't seem like their are a lot of opportunities because it is a very small company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would have loved to interact with other departments and had more intern activities

The company gives flexible schedule even though the projects are demanding.
Overall friendly environment with nice and approachable co-workers. Everyone is driven by creative works to meet deadlines.

    Cons

Promotions and position advancements seemed limited. Wish there were more cross-department meetings where different teams can discuss issues altogether.

I worked at Donna Karan full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with, and they have great clothes. I also enjoyed the international clientele, you get to meet a lot of interesting people. The CEO is also a great guy, he was always very involved at store visits and gave a lot of great advice.

    Cons

Upper management can micromanage too much. You have to email the dm every night with how you made your numbers or why you didn't, then tell how you will make it better tomorrow. I just think there are better ways to manage people and get good results.

    Doesn't Recommend
