I worked at Dorschel Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Everyone was very helpful in the beginning. Very structured environment.

    Cons

Shelf life of a manager is roughly 1-3 years. Then they spit you out like rotten fish. Loyalty does not pay. Don't expect a career here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look out for the ones above you, and hope you don't get blindsided like you have do to too msny.

I have been working at Dorschel Automotive full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

lunch sat is provided, work with a lot of great sales people,

    Cons

very misleading pay structure, too many sales consultants (24 or more at dorschel toyota) common to see only 1 person a day and sometimes none gets worse in the winter months , some team leaders are very condescending , rude and disrespect at the toyota branch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be up front when disclosing how pay structure (Tell us we are paid 100% Commission instead of making it sound like we get paid 375 a week or our flat rate per car and product which ever is higher…let us know we have to pay our draw back …we make re-work compensation plans to more realistic numbers

I have been working at Dorschel Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's easy to get hired but that's because with 50-75% annual turn-over, they are always hiring.

    Cons

Unless you are one of the "chosen few," you have no chance for success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to figure out why there is such high turnover, rather than trying to figure out why sales people are selling more over-priced, questionable products like rust proofing and extended warranties

I have been working at Dorschel Automotive full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It pays the bills until a better opportunity opens somewhere else.

    Cons

There is a lot of pressure by the managment to falsify time sheets, skip lunch breaks, come in excessively early, and sacrafice your days off. Those who show resistance to the "culture of work" at the dealsership will quickly find themselves at the bottem of the board, or even off completely, thereby limiting all income opprotunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your emplyees regardless of how long they have been at the company or in the industry -- fresh ideas rarely come from a board room. It's why companies pay other companies millions of dollars to give them new ways to do business, run advertising, etc.

I have been working at Dorschel Automotive full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

decent training program and supportive mid-level managers to assist in your training. Easy to move up or to a different department if you would like. Unique approach to selling cars, truly ahead of the curve in this respect.

    Cons

definitely a "churn and burn" mentality. there is always a new training class starting and fewer than 10% of those that make it through training will be there within one year. very low employee morale and poor culture. Be prepared to take a well below industry average starting pay, learn everything you can and then move on to another dealership. Many of the processes are unnecessarily complicated and lead to frustration and confusion for all parties as well as lowered customer service

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

invest in ways to retain current employees as well as offer compensation in line with the industry. Work on listening to your employees and handling their complaints effectively

I have been working at Dorschel Automotive

    Pros

Dorschel has a great management structure and the pay is excellent. Co-workers are courteous and respectful and the overall environment promotes a pleasant work experience. I really enjoy working at Dorschel Automotive

    Cons

The benefits, in my opinion, we're a little pricy, and training has been a little slow. Other than that I have nothing negative to say about Dorschel I am loving it.
