    Pros

Starting pay is excellent and opportunity to advance is plentiful

    Cons

Overwhelming work load and expectations. You are just a number here and easily replaced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees. Show appreciation for the hard work people provide to help grow this company. Top Management needs to get out of their office, smile and interact with their employees. The employees are part of the team and not the enemy. If they were treated that way there would be more buy in from all associates to bring the company to the largest and best mortgage subservicing company in the United States.

I have been working at Dovenmuehle Mortgage full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

No weekends, nights, and some holidays off.

    Cons

ZERO training, low pay, expensive health benefits, no raises or promotions, horrible attitudes, misleading job descriptions. Read the other reviews on here and you'll see a common theme. I've been there 6 months, was put into a job position I wasn't hired for, given ZERO training, and get paid peanuts to deal with problems and aggravations far above my pay grade. I'm being paid far below my education level, and I have to wait a YEAR before I get a chance at being promoted. God help you if you need to ask a supervisor or, even worse, someone from another department for help, because you will catch some of the worst attitudes you could imagine. Very depressing place to work, and I would advise staying away unless you absolutely need a paycheck, and then I would only plan on being here while you look for something else. As of the time of this writing, DMI has 136 open positions. What does that tell you?

    Rampant Inefficiencies

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Dovenmuehle Mortgage

    Pros

    +Ample parking
    +Clean interior and exterior facilities

    Cons

    -Extremely high turnover rate
    -Low employee morale
-Annual raffles in lieu of pay raises
-No quarterly or annual reviews given
    -Expensive insurance plans
-Managers provide little motivation or guidance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A business model that relies on a continuous stream of "permatemps" is both dishonest and inefficient. It appears that your company adheres to a "trickle down" theory of economics, in the sense that the vast majority of your employees only receive a trickle of the revenue generated. At the very least, if you insist on freezing wages, please offer your employees adequate insurance benefits. Lastly, it's a real slap in the face to underpaid workers when the CEO parks his 6-figure luxury sedan directly adjacent to the main entrance; please show a little more class.

I have been working at Dovenmuehle Mortgage full-time

    Pros

Work can be challenging and engaging depending on position, good place to gain experience, good place to leave and never look back.

    Cons

Inconsistent work flow, strict dress code, horrible health benefits, lower than average salary, blatant disregard for employees, little room for advancement, and no recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give raises, provide a coherent path for advancement, give promotions, and actually contribute to your employees' health benefits. Treat employees like people, not cattle.

    Pros

    Great employees, good work experience.

    Cons

Micromanagement, dress code, lack of communication, favoritism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your employees better, speak when spoken to! How hard is it to say hello! Especially when we're in the bathroom saying hello never kill anyone. This is why your company having so many problems they treat their customers better than their employees. The especially the ones that come to work, on time everyday to do their job. You need to value your employees more. What's the old saying don't poop where you eat because nothing but poop going to come out. Something like that.

I have been working at Dovenmuehle Mortgage full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great place to gain experience in the financial/mortgage sector.
Overall, co-workers are nice, down to earth, and pleasant to work with
    Great entry-level positions
Can listen to music through headphones at desk while working, which can help employees be productive

    Cons

    Employees are overworked and underpaid
Micromanagement is all too common and accomplishes nothing in terms of increasing productivity
Many miscommunications between departments (and even within departments)
Not enough printers/copiers/scanners. People often crowd around one machine and have to wait too long
Tech issues pop up too frequently that can falter productivity
High turnover, meaning there are constantly new hires that need training, and fewer competent veterans who can train them
Training seminars are often too vague and accomplish little to nothing in relating to one's specific job
Little to no interaction with upper management (This reviewer has never seen most of them, even after 2 years of employment)
Upper management seems unwilling to make changes despite having heard about these problems through complaints and numerous exit interviews
Managers seem uninterested in employees' well being; unwilling to listen to employees' suggestions/complaints
Dress code changes happen too often and with too short of notice
Benefits are expensive and raises/promotions are rare; no annual raises to keep up with inflation/cost of living
Favoritism and hypocrisy among managers (e.g. You're asked not to have casual conversations, but managers have them with each other at length)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees and show you care about them. Reward hard work with raises for your veterans. Then, more young and qualified candidates will be attracted to openings, and may even stick around longer.
Also, practice what you preach. Lead by example, and employees will respect you a thousand times more.
Additionally, interact more often with floor managers and employees. That way, you can better vocalize your goals and hear from the people who try to achieve them for you how said goals can be accomplished.
Think carefully before holding numerous job fairs and then having a round of layoffs. DMI has been notorious for conducting frequent job fairs, then a few months later, laying off just as many people. A few months after the most recent layoffs took place, many departments are too short handed.
Finally, take current and exiting employees' suggestions seriously. If you don't make the changes that are being requested frequently, turnover will continue to go up to an unacceptably high level. If it increases, that could lead to increased short-staffedness, incompetency, and lower productivity. Clients will take notice and take their business elsewhere, and the company could struggle to survive.
In short, take care of your employees, and your employees will take care of you!

I have been working at Dovenmuehle Mortgage full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great company for gaining knowledge and experience to put on a resume. There are opportunities for growth and for promotions. If you are not overloaded with work, you can take classes on a variety of topics including excel, good management practices, ect.

    Cons

This company does not pay their employees what they are worth. They do not give raises or reviews. Dovenmuehle is a great stepping stone, but not great as a long term career option.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people better, provide reviews and raises. Stop overlooking those who are not working hard and provide better compensation for those who are capable and hard working.

I worked at Dovenmuehle Mortgage full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is fair and the trainers are knowledgeable of the companies practices and fairly old systems. The company is held in a building with a cafeteria, gym and multiple other business.

    Cons

This company is always hiring and laying off employees. The CFPB practically has taken up residence here due to the multiple breaches in borrower personal information. This subservicer house a handful of celebrity accounts and does NOT support a paperless environment. This company is a subservicer for over 100 different banks and investors. Dovenmuehle does not have the proper system and tools to effectively maintain the huge responsibility. The company has certainly bit off more than it can chew. This corporation refuse to keep up with the times, update old equipment and utilize modern mortgaging practices like Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Chase to name a few. Management here is broken and new hires are constantly harassed to the point of quitting after finding other employment. This company is just a stepping stone for a paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get together with the CEO and tell him that he needs invest in his business and his employees, smile and speak when spoken to. As long as his company continues to be a non paperless environment thousands and thousands of accounts will remain in jeopardy of more breaches.
