I have been working at Dover Corporation full-time

    Pros

Flexibility, work life balance and organizational culture are the best. In the last few years my career has really benefitted from increased responsibilities. My efforts being rewarded by promotions.

    Cons

the negatives of being at HQ are lack of clarity in career path. The centralized management structure is in its initial phases and the lack of HR clarity is sometimes evident in confusing career growth policies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The organizational culture is one of the best I have ever seen with respect for personal space and time. The only advice to management would be to clearly think of team positions, hierarchy, growth plans and roles before hiring people.

I worked at Dover Corporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Global locations and served many markets. Work commute was short

    Cons

Keep buying and selling companies but no efforts to integrate; old ideas with little room for new energy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on product and customer service innovation and invest for top line growth; remove "dead" wood and replace with fresh out of the box thinking from leading edge companies

I have been working at Dover Corporation

    Pros

Above average compensation structure. Businesses are growing and Dover is investing in its businesses.

    Cons

If you are making numbers, you are allowed to do whatever you want and treat people poorly. People are not respected here. There is no job security and no work life balance. The organization is dysfunctional and disorganized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your people better. Take a hard close look at your senior executive leadership team.

I have been working at Dover Corporation full-time

    Pros

Diverse businesses; lots of upward mobility...but only if you are listed as a "high potential"; successful recent results

    Cons

Ethical gaps make the "Dover Values" not worth the plastic cards the words are printed on; Hugely political organization, especially at its Downers Grove headquarters; corporate leaders are asserting more control over operating companies, although in many cases they lack enough knowledge of businesses to not hurt results; limited regard for employees who they treat as disposable assets; limited upward mobility for those not on the high potential list...and heaven forbid if you're older and lack enough "runway" -- then you're done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget who produce the large profits you are reporting -- and it's not those who sit on the thrones in Downers Grove.
