They provide very competitive salaries. If you are willing to work very hard and put in a lot of time, you can succeed. They encourage innovation. Safety is also key.

If you want to succeed, do not expect much of a work/life balance. Benefits could be better. Very tight deadlines for projects.

Continue good work begun already to increase / improve communication between management and staff. Increase communication methods beyond email (as email volume has spiraled out of control in today's workplace; thereby losing its effectiveness). Continue to embrace innovation and flexibility in work processes over traditional/historical ways the company has done business in the past.

Change the policy of different roles combines a job in the organization.
Pros
Well organized. Great people. Great training programs.
Cons
Lots of beauracracy type paperwork and red tape. But it comes with any big company. They don't pay the most and will tell you straight up.
Advice to Senior Management
Check salaries at other companies and match.
Pros
Great salary and benefits at dow.
Cons
Run as a chemical company, not as a building materials manufacturing company. The arrogance is incredible.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep mktg management in place long enough that they can really learn and understand customer needs. The revolving door is rediculous at DBS.
Pros
Overall a pretty good place to work.
Cons
The training takes at least 6 years in my plant to be fully trained.
Pros
Well-rounded employee development agenda; Ambitious corporate transformation strategy to put the company on a new growth trajectory; Noble and industry-leading mission and purpose of resolving critical problems of humanity as well as leading the industry in sustainability and safety practices above board.
Cons
Decision making is still too centralized at the headquarters although this is currently said to be evolving to becoming more business- and geography-driven; Work life balance is also a challenge as there are too many evening meetings needed between regional site to arrive at concensus on key decisions amidst the timezone challenge.
Advice to Senior Management
Prepare regional leaders and accelerate localization / decentralization of decision making.
