    Pros

    The people you will work with and get ot learn from are some of the smartest people you can ever meet.

    Cons

    The potential for improvments within the company is great yet sad to say held back from doing so. The structure is so top (management) heavy that the little guys that do the work are not recognized as they could be.

    Advice to Management

    Don't change it if it works well. Improve yes, there's always room for improvement but ORACLE / GSP is the worst thing that could have happened to this company.

    I love the working environment and the friendship among workers

    You can always learn something new everyday and try to finishing each day accident free

    Treat people right and they will work there self to death for you.

    Since they are so lean you have opportunity to learn and be proactive

    Cons

    Very often over worked and overwhelmed

    Advice to Management

    Employees have to work with an entrepreneurial attitude since there is not much guidance or motivation. Would be nice if management walked their talk.

    Pros

    D-R has technology but no access to every employee. They have reputation in industry.I think 20 words are too much.

    Cons

    Very undeveloped business processes, no platform is available to enhance knowledge,

    Advice to Management

    Please look into the processes, I think managerial people having no interest in work.

    The people you work with are very nice and helpful.

    Management : non working finger pointing slugs.

    Advice to the V.P.'s : Look closely at the yes men under you there are quite a few who will throw you under the bus if they can.

    Interesting equipment business serving the attractive oil and gas industry

    Cons

    If you are good and competent at what you do, you will be viewed as a threat by leadership which will result in lowering your self esteem and personal self worth. Working for this company could negatively impact your goals unless you just want a paycheck and punch the clock. Flavor the moment approach to problem solving.

    Advice to Management

    Come to terms with your personal limitations and support and grow the good employees. There are a lot of good people at this company that need nurturing to make it more successful. It is time for Dresser-Rand to modernize its management style and culture. If it acted like major multi-national corporation, it could grow up to be as large as Dollar General.

    Decent wages for the Western NY area

    Cons

    Union is obstructionist Management won't invest in new equipment Organized to be political - no teamwork Cost conscience to the point of starvation - hurts profitability

    Pros

    Most people were great; opportunities to learn a new business.

    Cons

    Bureaucracy; layers of bureaucracy; pay is slightly less than industry; leadership's inability to meet financial targets regularly is concerning.

    Advice to Management

    Have a plan and sense of urgency to accurately forecast. The O/G service industry is strong globally, but yet this gong show misses targets, inexcusable without a major shakeup.
