    Forget about a Work/Life balance.

Sales Associate (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsGreat co-workers and loose environment. Great benefits.

    ConsLoooooong Hours!!!

Expect to 50-60 hours per week. Expect to work late into the night - sometimes to 10pm. If you are someone who values spending time with family, having extracurricular activities outside of work, and personal development, DriveTime is NOT the place for you. Forget about looking forward to the weekend because you will be working every Saturday but one. Also forget about after work activities. Compensation for sales is pretty slim given the hours you work and the time that goes into making each sale.

    Management-

Expect certain incompetent managers to kill your sales. Your sales hinge on the effectiveness of your managers. If your manager has no people skills (one of mine suffers from a major lack of people skills) it could hurt your paycheck significantly.

Expect managers to follow the operating procedures or "Customer Experience" when it is convenient and to throw it under the bus when it is not. You'll be expected to follow it at all times except when it contradicts what your manager wants to do at a particular moment.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within to get the very best managers. Shorten the Saturday hours or give each sales associate 2 Saturdays off instead of one. Have stores close 1-2 hours earlier to prevent late night (10 pm) sales. Don't worry you wont loose sales and you may get to keep more sales associates.

    Better follow or else...

Sales Manager (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsGreat place to learn how the corporate world works!

ConsLong hours, low pay, low recognition for jobs well done. Job is robotic and unrewarding. Looking for fresh young college kids who have no life or work experience to get stuck here and that will work long hours, and will aimlessly follow management believe every single word they say.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop allowing regimes to get into management and promote under performers because they are either related, or naive to the business and believe that upper management walks on water!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Professioanly scretched to tears

Operations Advisor (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsIt's nice when the dealership meets it's monthly sales goal. Monthly bonus is anywehre for $100-$325 extra at the end of each month.

ConsThe raises are horrible. The hours are long. Lack of opportunity is you are in operations.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay the operations dept. more money. You can't get your bonuses without us.

Don't work for Drive Time they sell cheap cars and the pay sucks!

Sales Manager (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsAs a Sales or General Manager you are given a company car. This is usually any vehicle on the lot that overall cost is less than 8k. Sunday the dealerships are closed.

ConsHours! You will work at least 60 hours per week. The pay. The salary for SM was 50K and GM 60K now GM is 50K and SM is 38K before other incentives kick in. Overall the money sucks now.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop promoting people because you are friends with them. This happened a lot with Drive Time in Atlanta.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
