I have been working at DuPage Medical Group

    Pros

Flexible schedule and management seemed to have a medical background.

    Cons

Change in upper management made everything about money and less about patient care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about the patient than money.

    Don't work at 1020 E Ogden office!

I worked at DuPage Medical Group

    Pros

Coworkers/peers were awesome, enjoyed working with them. Gained interesting knowledge of medicine. These are the only reasons for the two stars.

    Cons

Patient care is not a priority. Employee satisfaction is not a priority. Hourly pay scale is the lowest of all other medical groups in the area. High turn over. Office manager at 1020 East Ogden is completely incompetent and blatantly plays favorites. Is responsible for managing a very busy office with several physicians yet has absolutely no college or medical background. Her sidekick "supervisor" is a joke, making a full time salary while only coming to office once a week. When she is there, they sit in managers office and girl -talk for hours.
Any questions, concerns, or suggestions brought to their attention are ignored unless it has a direct impact on them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to do more for your employees if you want to keep valuable employees and stop the high turnover. Pay competitive wages, offer small perks. And make PATIENT CARE your focus, not fattening the bank accounts of the senior officers. And you need to pay more attention to who's running your offices.

I have been working at DuPage Medical Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible Hours, Good PTO, Variety of locations, provides some continuing education

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. Some co-workers feel entitled to more and not adapting to culture change due to the many changes in healthcare out in the world.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to show employees the reasons for change, such as Medicare mandates, HIPAA and HITECH changes.

I have been working at DuPage Medical Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Numerous locations, excellent upper management, good rapport with other Managers. The Patient Accounts group is a great group to work with. We work together as a team to manage the AR for this quickly growing company. We are very busy and have to respond quickly to changes in the AR. We have the fabulous opportunity of bringing up new Service Areas and getting them going. Keeping up with the changing Health Care trends is an arduous task and DuPage Medical Group is doing it right

    Cons

The way the company is spread out now, it is harder and harder to get to know everyone supported by the Business Office. We are given good vacation benefits but it is so busy it is not always possible to use them and if we don't use them they are lost.

Awful now, was great prior to change in senior leadership!

I have been working at DuPage Medical Group

    Pros

Some coworkers are great, patient interaction is a plus, some doctors really do care about their patients, some opportunity for advancement if you're "a favorite", and company continues to grow.

    Cons

Horrible pay, ok benefits, CEO is a joke, employees are just a number, making money is the main purpose from senior leadership and culture has suffered because of it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about current employees since happy employees equates to better customer service and therefore happier patients. Morale is suffering, open your eyes.

I have been working at DuPage Medical Group

    Pros

You will work hard, and get to understand alot of nuances of health care management. senior management is strategic, so it's great to learn and see new strategies out in place.

    Cons

Many of the senior positions are not posted, and only offered to those with person connections. no staff or internal employee development. those interested in more are discouraged from looking for promotions. most managers are inadequate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop penalizing your higher profits and start developing them.

    Pros

    Coworkers and flex time offered.

    Cons

Experience in dept was alright horrible pay everyone got paid different. Management preferred people who worked faster and didn't even have degrees. Always showed favoritism. Horrible pay. The morale in the department was literally dead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please work on your management skills but I believe it is unrepairable.

I worked at DuPage Medical Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

flexible, small perks like free coffee and softdrinks, vacation time more than most companies

    Cons

no opportunities for advancement in non-clinical realm, management unorganized, managed like a typical corporation- don't expect progressive business model of any kind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reevaluate salaries because they aren't competative- hospitals pay a lot more in the Chicagoland area. Offer and even require professional training for non clinical staff. Also leadership development courses for management would help. Also don't promote people to management positions just because they've been with the group for a long time.. this isn't 1965.
