So far, lack luster

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at DuPont

ProsThe work life balance is a plus for DuPont. The company makes every effort to be as ethical as possible. Training opportunities are good at times.

ConsThe pay and benefits are a little behind the competitors in the local job market. Management does not seem to adjust when needed.

I have been working at DuPont full-time for more than a year

ProsProvides many training opportunities to young engineers. There are opportunities to advance quickly.

ConsCompensation isn't competitive in some cases. Very de-centralized, each unit feels like an island unto itself with little communication between units on the site or from corporate.

A nice place to work for the majority of the time

Senior Marketing Communications Manager (Former Employee)
Wilmington, DE

I worked at DuPont full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGood experience, Six Sigma Training, collaborative environment, good pay and benefits.

ConsLayoffs, and more layoffs. Not seeing the talent within - always using consultants. Any educational background besides Science (Engineers, Chemists, other Scientists) not as valued. This limits career growth and opportunities. And makes for poor morale.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake smarter growth decisions. Protect intellectual property. Appreciate and encourage diversity - not just in the traditional sense but also diversity of thought and education. Embrace and live the core values - especially respect for people.

ProsBig company with lots of opportunities.

ConsTo heavy on middle management.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet field engineering program new hires know their location before hiring them. Many (most?) were unhappy in their first role.
