I have been working at DuPont full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities to develop and grow.
Great people who care generally care.
    Good benefits

    Cons

Management of people, priorities, and their roles reduces organizational productivity.
After work force reductions, remaining work does not get eliminated requiring in some cases new contractors to be trained to do the same thing.
Many moving parts and technical expertise prevent projects from moving quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be transparent and recognize/promote people fairly across the organization to allow better career growth.
Carefully manage the major changes ahead to prevent political motives from overtaking goals to improve employee engagement.

Former Employee - Supply Chain in Richmond, VA

I worked at DuPont full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and relatively good benefits. This is about the only "pro" from my perspective. I can only speak about the Spruance facility as it was the only site I saw.

    Cons

80 year old plant with 80 year old culture. They have not moved into the 21st century yet. No focus on customers or employees, only on the shareholder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your customers and employees and your shareholders will get taken care of by default. Reversing that order will not allow you to attract and retain good talent.

I have been working at DuPont as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The people at DuPont really practice what they preach when it comes to the core values which is great to see in such a large, and established corporation. The work was slow at times, but everyone was so helpful and willing to talk with me so I could get a more broad sense of the company and different functions.

    Cons

    Work was slow and boring.
