    Pros

    Kind, teaching hospital, Great place to learn, Very competitive pay for RN's in the RDU area, many growth opportunities, Big name that translates well when transitioning to a different job, flexibility

    Cons

    Weekend requirements for most positions, NCA pay was not very competitive, Hard to get hired as a new grad RN unless you already have your foot in the door or know someone.

    Great learning opportunity as a New Grad RN. There is tons of support to aid in the transition to SRN to RN

    Cons

    Poor pay, and must be very flexible with scheduling. Rotation from nights to days can be quite difficult

    Advice to Management

    Schedule nurses for a month at a time as opposed to chances every 2 weeks.

    Pros

    Good management. Good total compensation. Great work-life balance if you take advantage of it.

    Cons

    Difficult to advance. Pay is not that great compared to other hospitals in the area.

    Pros

    Good benefits, great research and academic institution.

    Cons

    Not a reflection on Duke but on the research field in general. Like any laboratory dependent on NIH funding, future of the lab is dependent on PI's ability to secure grants.
