    Pros

The people at D&B are great, from the CEO down to the brand new intern. I have never had an issue finding someone help me figure out how to do something procedural, and the powers that be are particularly receptive to new ideas. I don't do the work that the company is known for, but instead background operations in which I have a particular expertise and anybody to whom I must offer relevant advice or guidance openly accepts that I am here for this reason, only raising objections when my input conflicts with their own personal expertise.

    Cons

Relatively disorganized in many ways, though the new executive team is obviously working toward changing this. Simple tasks, like getting an IP drop installed, can take weeks or even months longer than necessary. A lot of my job pertains to initiating technological services which is something D&B outsources, thus slowing the process significantly.

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work, but also streamline the simple processes. There's no reason for so many paper trails, service tickets, etc.

    Pros

Flexible work environment, definitely rewarded the employees for working hard. The company cared about a work-life balance and understood the need to work remotely.

    Cons

When I was there the technology was outdated. They outsource much of IT and a fair amount of the knowledge. It took a while to get institutional knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Find a better balance between insourcing and outsourcing technical functions. For the sole purpose of driving better business outcomes.

    Pros

The training you receive here is in-depth, and the training staff is phenomenal. There are many ins and outs in the world of business credit that even as an individual with a background in finance, I had never been familiar with before working here.

Hours are excellent. No work on the weekends and my evenings are free as soon as I step out of the office.

If you are driven to exceed standards with a strong phone presence, a charming personality and an ability to hold a conversation, you will do well here. Doing well with this company is a very lucrative experience.

Management develops a very encouraging environment and ensures that everyone feels at home within the company.

The work teaches you to think on your feet more than any other position I've held. If you want a crash course in critical analysis and conversational implementation, you can't go wrong with this company.

    Cons

The work you do can be taxing. Don't expect to slack at all during the day or you'll get called out on it. Working here comes with the expectation to perform and exceed goals.

If you don't perform, your compensation can be impacted. While this is to be expected in any position, it can be a substantial amount of your paycheck. If you perform, this is not a concern.

The work can be high stress, depending on your personality type and how you operate.

Paid time off can be a hassle to work out with the managers, occasionally. Depending upon the time of year, you may have to use the negotiating skills that you learned on the job.
