I worked at Dunkin' Donuts full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun, fast paced, easy work. Everything you have to do is pretty easy so it would be a good first job for someone young because you only get paid minimum wage.(but you get a raise after 6 months)

    Cons

You don't always move up to management position very quick, and if you do, they still don't get paid much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start the pay a little higher

    Pros

Easy to learn job responsibilities, free food after managers leave at 4pm, hours if you want them

    Cons

Low pay, on feet for extended periods, work six days a week, have to stay late if people don't show up, guaranteed to be asked to come in on your day off

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know it's difficult because it's minimum wage work, but try getting dependable people who take the job seriously enough to come in when they're supposed to and who have brains in their heads. I don't like having to cancel after work plans because some teenager doesn't feel like coming to work.

    Pros

Easy, Good Atmosphere, Managers are great in my area, friendly people.

    Cons

It is a minimum wage position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing whatever your doing in FL the hiring managers in my area are wonderful, my encounters with them have been above and beyond, in fact the initial interview I had the manager went above and beyond to pass my interview and app to other managers who she knew were looking for someone who would be a good fit with them.

    Pros

Management easy to work for. Co-workers nice. Always busy which makes time fly by. Hours flexible so I can spend time with my family.

    Cons

Little room for promotions since this is a donut shop. Company doesn't offer benefits for part time employees. Training is adequate.

    Pros

Donuts - of course! You get to see people perk up each day once they receive their caffeine.

    Cons

Early work hours, morning rush can is the last thing you want the first thing in the morning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training. It is no fun to make up a drink as you go because you do not know how to actually make it.

I worked at Dunkin' Donuts part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pretty fun place to work. You get to meet new people every day, sneak a few snacks here and there, and take in the aroma (which I guess could be a con for some people).

    Cons

Normal cons of minimum wage work: sometimes bossy manager, rude customers, some physical labor required (mopping floors consistently, scrubbing down coffee makers, etc.)

I worked at Dunkin' Donuts full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The reason I switched from working at a local donut shop to Dunkin' is that I wasn't getting the amount of hours I wanted at the local place, all while they hired new people. I could tell my commitment wasn't being appreciated, so I thought I'd give Dunkin' a shot after a friend at Dunkin' recommended it. For a little while I worked at both places, but soon Dunkin' was offering me as many hours as I could handle and I was able to leave my old job.

The manager was excellent at recognizing ability and giving credit where it was due. My co-workers were also great. It was a positive team atmosphere. I worked there for 2 summers in between college semesters. I can't think of a better place for a minimum wage job.

    Cons

The flip-side of the manager recognizing and awarding effort is that we were pushed to work as fast and hard as possible. It was a really busy place, and often my lunch break would be cut short because of that. We didn't really get breaks in general.

Also, there weren't any employee discounts, which was disappointing. All we got was one free coffee per day.

For some people, the hours may be a con. For a while I was starting at 4am, which is the beginning of the first day-shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think it's all about having a good manager. Mine ran a tight ship, and that translated into good morale.

    Cons
