    Pros

you could make some great co-workers/friends that get you through the day, i've seen/talked to a couple celebrities, flexible schedule, party associates get great opportunities

    Cons

i truly liked working there and the people i worked with, but i hated the management. they definitely have favorites so they don't treat everyone equally. i felt like i was in high school with cliques and favorites, a lot of gossip

I worked at Dylan's Candy BAR part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It is a fun and happy environment. Flexibility with schedule and an ever changing environment. It was really hard to be bored which is great!

    Cons

Management is clicky and stands around more than work. Most of their day is spent sitting in the office hanging out with other managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually lead by example. If you are just hanging out all day but we aren't allowed to show us how it is done.

I worked at Dylan's Candy BAR full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The only pro is that you get to meet some good people

    Cons

Never worked for a company more dysfunctional than this one. The culture is really bad, everyone talks bad about everyone else, the NY store it is like going back to high school if you are not in the popular crowd they don't consider you, most mgmt all they do is sit around in the back talking to the GM mostly to be on her good side and gossip.Corporate people all they do is complaining when they are in the NY store about the new president of the company an Indian guy who i have to say is really arrogant and rude. (Very disappointing that Dylan does not notice this, she should be more concerned) I feel bad for Dylan actually who i never really had the chance to get to know better but at least she seems nice and down to earth considering she is Ralph Lauren's daughter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise Dylan to really look at the people working for her because they are not in it to help her business. To the MGMT in NY i would say if they don't like what they do they should leave, they are not doing any favor to this business only getting their paycheck, just because most MGMT has been there quite awhile doesn't mean they are good for it.

I worked at Dylan's Candy BAR as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The creative director was amazing to work under. Even though I was an intern, I felt that I got to work on projects that actually mattered and that my supervisor really valued me beyond just the usual administrative intern work.

There's a great energy in the creative department (although I can't speak for other departments) and I felt like I learned a lot about a small company from spending the summer working for Dylan's.

There was also a summer intern project that allowed you to collaborate with interns from other departments and create something together. It was fun meeting the other interns and working with them.

There was also an option to work at the store on Friday's to make some money, but I had a second job so didn't take advantage of that opportunity.

    Cons

I think my biggest issue with the internship was the low compensation, or really lack of compensation. I was not getting the internship for credit, nor was I being paid. I worked there four full days per week. Fortunately my department was worth it because I learned so much from the creative director, whom I still have a relationship with, but I do think that the internship should offer some compensation, beyond the free candy you get from the office.

I worked at Dylan's Candy BAR part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

very lively environment to work in, working in different areas of the store at any given time and day, good pay, they also treat the employees very well during busy seasons by buying lunch for the employees.

    Cons

off of the busy times it is very slow. Products are expensive so you hear a lot of complaints from customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to employees more.

I worked at Dylan's Candy BAR as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Worked in the corporate office, not the store on the floor. The people at the office are nice and friendly. There are other interns there as well that make it more comfortable.

    Cons

The summer internship was only paid $200 a week. Counting the hours, it was pretty much 7.25 an hour. The pay could at least be 9.00.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give interns more work that is influential.
