    Pros

You will learned a lot about how not to treat people, and how not to run a team. You will also learned that some BIG pay checks are just not worth what you have to go through to get them.

    Cons

Management had no moral compass. Discrimination and lying ran rampant among senior leaders. This company is burden on the military and all those who serve in uniform.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for the management. Some things you cant fix and the management at this company is one of those things.

I worked at DynCorp International full-time

    Pros

401K and paid time off. Being able to work with good people at the NASA facility at Ellington Field. Customer oriented.

    Cons

Not an employee oriented company. Fail to recognized outstanding work or employees with years of knowledge and experience. Quick to fire or let key personnel that were critical to the contract walk away.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees that have more experience than you do working the contract and allow them to do their jobs in a safe and hostile free environment.

    Cons

Nepotism, promotion by attrition, "we work for the military, let's act military" mentality, incompetently negotiated contracts, disconnected management, effete HR, atrocious benefits package...

    Advice to Management

Hire based upon credentials, not the good old boy system.

    Pros

DI will hire person without any LC experience Chance to work with different nationalities Adventure

    Cons

If you are not US citizen or low pay worker from Asia or Africa there is no way to be promoted. A lot of disrespect, racism and nationalism toward non US workers A lot of High management without basic social skills or any "job" knowledge DI does not respect NATO member countries and interpretative US & Military rules on their own way Food was very poor quality (Shindand & Farah) Pay grade/scale is totally ridicules Foreign nations doesn't have same R&R terms Very bad living condition (LG) Management wont hold nobody accountable responsible for nothing Everything is sugarcoated ...........

    Advice to Management

    Higher better educated workers

    Pros

Nothing really comes to mind. This company is dishonest and does not take care of its hard working employees. Management tries to save money at all costs, at the expense of its employees. Management had zero experience in the aviation career field.

    Cons

Company withholds true details of the contract until you arrive in the overseas office, then gives you the "option" to sign an addendum by putting you on the spot. Result was a shortened contract with prorated benefits, bonuses, travel pay, and vacation time. Company didn't even reveal the exact location of the position until arrival overseas. Housing arrangements were atrocious and company expected employees to pay for most routine costs like work internet services, lease vehicle maintenance costs, etc.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees and quit hiding the truth. Overall salary was better than US wages for the position but is the "low ball" salary company compared to other defense contractors that actually take care of their employees. Pay better and give better benefits to the people that earned it.

I worked at DynCorp International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are endless amounts of opportunities to improve as a professional . The mid level management are great and do all they can to ensure a great work environment

    Cons

Company in a downward spiral . Poor top level management and declining profitable opportunities. The defense industry as a whole is suffering due to limited funding from the U.S. Government and this doesn't bode well for the industry as a whole

    Advice to Management

    None

  11. Helpful (1)

    Horrible - management/supervision stinks

    Current Contractor - Anonymous Contractor
    Current Contractor - Anonymous Contractor

I have been working at DynCorp International as a contractor

    Pros

If your first year exposure to contracting, yet in a bad way. This company could care less of its employees and better yet the support of our troops. The management on board lies to their regionals and pm, as well employees alongside HR. The HSE department files reports of lies to keep from having to file reports to OSHA covering valid incidents.

    Cons

Being able to travel to different countries while working government contracting.

    Advice to Management

This is for Regionals, Directors, and PMs- take the time to go and talk with the people who actually performs the work one on one without consequences or fear of back lashing on them; your managers and supervisors are horrible to a lot of employees (American or third country nationals). They make lies their truths and get away with it.
