Formerly good company, products, and people but must return to former self to survive.

    Sales Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsGreat products that can really serve the non-verbal population with a means of communication. You can really make a difference in someone"s life.

ConsPoor management at the top made poor decisions. Tripled sales force in less than 2 years and revenue plummeted. Took company public and stock went from $18 to around 10 cents in less than3 years (DVOX). Ran off most dedicated, experienced employees. Treated all with mis-trust

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to serving the client and respecting the good workers and the numbers witll begin to take care of themselves. You ways of high control and greed have not worked.

A wonderful company destroyed by a Board that is asleep

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe products truly help people. Some staff nice.

ConsAll decisions are made by the CEO. Managers are not provided with the proper information to complete their jobs. They CANNOT seem to successfully develop new products. What should be fast releases take years and are filled with bugs. And the culture (starting from the top) is horrendous. There is a climate of fear and mistrust.

Advice to Senior ManagementBoard of Directors: step up to your responsibilities. The company has lost almost all value yet you seem to do NOTHING. You and the CEO have destroyed a wonderful company. (Just check the stock price!)

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Used to be a great job

    Sales Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsGreat product that is really needed. Your customers truly appreciate your time and effort.

ConsThe management of the company has no idea what makes DynaVox better. They act like it is the software but it used to be the level of support we provided. Now that most of the experienced reps have left there is no reason for a customer to choose DynaVox.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees better and take an honest look at your marketplace when you set commissions and quotas.

Doesn't care about its employees or customers

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Pittsburgh, PA

ProsIt used to be a great company to work for - wonderful products that met a need, smart people, forward looking product plan. Now management is only concerned about the bottom line.

ConsSince the company went public, it's gone downhill very rapidly. Salaries are not competitive; there seems to be absolutely no interest in keeping their employees or customers. and morale is terrible.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart making an effort to develop new products, but support your customers and make an effort to appease your disgruntled employeesl

    Great Product, Poor Management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Pittsburgh, PA

ProsKnowing that disabled children (especially) are (often) being given their first opportunity to communicate clearly with their parents. Very rewarding.

ConsStark lack of leadership at all levels. Distinct lack of vision, products are being undercut steeply by competition that just a few years ago didn't seem to exist. Employee morale not even taken into consideration. Interdepartmental communication is functionally nonexistent.

Advice to Senior ManagementTALK to your employees. MORALE really does mean something in the workplace. It's HUGE, actually, but start with baby steps...
