I have been working at E.ON as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunity to work alongside different persons, be it an E.ON colleague or an outsourced colleague opens your eye to the differnt business strategies/possibilities in a workplace. Colleagues willing to explain to you what exactly they do, showing you hand for hand the differnt processes related to their job role, and possibility getting tasks from them depending on your availability. Friendly employees willing to show you the help you experience the new culture as a foreigner.

    Cons

The only downside to this intenship is the limited opportunities your get as an English native and with a very limited amount of German. Most projects/colleagues regard to most scenarios in German so it leaves you out in terms of not understanding contents the first time around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Providing interns with prolonged tasks, making them less idle and continuly having to something to do.

I have been working at E.ON full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, lots of development and progression opportunities UK and Europe.

    Cons

False promises, I really grafted to make my business area a success. But I now believe at high level the plan was always different despite them guaranteeing longevity.

Also the company has a massive public negative view due to the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest, don't over promise and improve communication top down.

Current Employee - Business Analyst in London, England (UK)

I have been working at E.ON full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good working hours and holiday allowance, pension scheme, gym membership, private medical insurance.
Generally nice people and friendly work environment. Approachable, down-to-earth top management

    Cons

Very bureaucratic and slow decision-making, inflexible on the "old ways". Not very good at recognizing and promoting talent. Too much office politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quick and sometimes tough decisions are necessary - the management must be able to take them, regardless of the sacrifices. New ideas and innovation should be encouraged. Leadership needs to be a bit more involved in development and career growth of employees who show potential.

Former Employee - just a bod
Former Employee - just a bod

I worked at E.ON full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There really are not that many pros to be honest

    Cons

Racist, bully boy tactics, management have their favourites. If your face doesn't fit then any excuse to get you out the door is used. If you are of an ethnic background you can say and so what you like and get away with it as management are scared of the race card being pulled

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sort out your teams. Stamp out the bullying. Stamp out the racism - black against White is a form of racism in this country and upper management need to address it. It sure does stink

I have been working at E.ON full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

In Romania the company has being having a big financial potential and great development in the gas and electricity domestic market since 2005.

    Cons

Even if the company is always promoting a better changing strategy related to the challenging future in the global market energy, the Group doesn't have a clear one at least in Romania. What is the better understood at the mid level of the structure is outsourcing of the services and the reducing of the personnel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The top management must promote the professionals in all the areas of the activity and a clear strategy for development of the middle management. These facts, the weak management and unclear strategy have leaded to the slow development of the services and less progress in the activity. Maybe in the future we'll have nice surprises.
