Pros
good people. cooperative. flexible work schedule. nice balance of personal and professional life.
Cons
lack of strong management.. a pervasive lack of professionalism.
Advice to Senior Management
promote quality employees
Pros
Encourage growth and creativity. The work environment and culture is relaxed, professional and encouraging. I havent encountered a single instance where I was worried or apprehensive. I could find support in my colleagues and also my manager.
Cons
One thing I noticed at the at the particular office I worked was "too much flexibility" in timing. Some folks too the word "flexibility" literally.
Advice to Senior Management
I would recommend to encourage more. Ask if the employee wants to do more than whats assigned. Be it new certification or training.
Pros
Get your Series Licenses, observe how clients are riding this market and learning from them.
Cons
Service request that are not processed in a timely fashion and some clients complaining about our Manila Call center.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the clients concern about Manila reps.
Pros
Good benefits
Friendly co-workers
Social events
Open door policy
Can be promoted based on performance
Several differenct shifts to choose from
Cons
Micro management
feel like a robot
everything is monitored
nothing rewarding about the actual job
have to deal with rude customers
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees more room to be creative. Everything should not be so structured. If employees were given a little but more breathing room, maybe there wouldn't be such high turnover.
Pros
Creative. Small world.Strong in web technology.
Cons
Slow growth.Lack of visibility to smart work.Immature process
Advice to Senior Management
Value IQ and education and utilize such talent
Pros
People know the name and commercials.
Cons
Little chance for real growth. Very inside boys club have to make friends with others to get some where. And the next "step" is a dead end too, often with no salary bump.
Not a customer friendly.
Everything is based on "metrics" often with no relation to real efficiency or performance.
Advice to Senior Management
They will not care or listen. Very disrespectful to employees and customers. it should stop at some point.
Pros
There's a lot to learn at ETRADE, even for seasoned developers. I was impressed with the length of time most of the team members had been there, 6-10+ years. Some people have been there since the old glory days of ETRADE.
Cons
In my perspective the overall technology culture at ETRADE is hampered by poor team interconnectivity and low socialization. It seemed that groups of people tended to associate primarily within their own team, or within their own culture. Not unlike a lot of other companies, but this is clearly a weakness. I would have liked to see more of a team building effort, especially at times when morale had been low. My perception of the environment is that it is extremely competitive due to the lack of trust outside of cliques.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe team building across cultural boundaries is sorely needed. Trust and transparency is a must. Secrets and whispering behind people's backs only adds to the division. Focus on integrating new talented developers within the ranks of the seasoned heroes of yore.
Pros
compared to any other call center in manila, somehow you will earn much more working with this company. but work loads is superb, stressful and exhausting and you will end comparing your salary with your counterpart in the US.
Cons
1000 pesos per month for your meal allowance? guess it's not enough. my previous work provide 3500 for meal and transpo (jp morgan chase). no hazard pay as well
Advice to Senior Management
you're really gettin most out of us, doing outbound, inbound, correspondence at the same time. doing back up with other departments but giving us no compensation at all. no quarter/semi annual bonus. annual bonus depends on employee stat but i am not sure if senior managers here are qualified at all. no teambuildings sponsored by the company. no retirement accounts either.
Pros
benefits, short hours, time off.
Cons
The job itself. Customers. Customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Do something about the wait times.
Pros
Easy work, flexible hours, opportunities to grow.
Cons
Slow to progress upwards in management
Advice to Senior Management
Be more noticing that our product managers make more bad changes than good changes.
