I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Exciting and challenging projects underway to modernize the company. Leadership is supportive of ambition and knows they should think big.

    Cons

Sometimes there are a lack of processes and also a lack of speed in modernization efforts. As a result, some change feels slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pay was decent initially however after working with another manager but total compensation went down due to lack of bonus.

Make sure to interview them because this went from being the greatest place to work to my worst nightmare in a matter of months.

    Cons

Lack of management training for the long term Etrade employees. Try to work for some who is newer to Etrade.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I hear you are doing a great job since I left and that makes me happy to hear. Try to pay more attention to middle management training.

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Upper management is trying to turn the tech side around and have introduced a number of process improvements to help make things more transparent. There is a move to upgrade the technology and its infrastructure. Considering the all new executive suite, it will be some time before the success of this undertaking can be evaluated.

    Cons

Mediocre salary. High stress levels. Not much room for advancement unless you are more into game playing than actual innovation and accomplishment. Technology dating back to the 90's and unlikely to change very quickly. Working level leadership is more interested in empire building than building the company. At present, the process that has been implemented is all show and no substance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would help to translate the advertised company values into something real instead of relying on an obsolete management style based on bullying. Good upper management intentions are usually frustrated by a lack of follow through. The middle-management bureaucracy somehow manages to protect it's domain, and give the appearance of acting without really taking the process improvements to heart.

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good mentorship from employees and a good support system. fast paced and it requires you to make sure you are willing to adapt to your surroundings.

    Cons

the downside is the micromanagement on the lower service teams. it is more of a political game when it coms to promotion. several individuals come to this company with year soy experience and i feel they are belittled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay more.

    Pros

Depending on the group, coworkers are great and are trying to improve this company. A bunch of smart people there, but not necessarily in the right positions

    Cons

Pay is average at best, difficult to grow because middle management does nothing and everyone doing the work will just leave for a better opportunity. Lots of turnover, get sucked into the same work with hardly much innovation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay organized and have an ear to those grinding day to day. Don't push meetings all the time, make time for your team.

    Pros

You can steal from people (if you are into that) Well, really you are forced into it, so if you work CSR for etrade you are going to be lying to customers frequently.

    Cons

You are forced to steal from people. If you speak fluent english you are going to have a hard time finding someone to talk with or making friends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop stealing from people. You are all crooks and thieves! Give some help when employees ask for it! Stop focusing on stealing from customers and focus on customer service!
