    Pros

Great innovative company to work for. Cutting edge technology. Many changes in senior management that have led to a greater focus on core competencies. The shift in strategy has positioned the company well for future success. Co-workers are very nice and collaborative.

    Cons

Lack of resources to keep up with all the changes requested by business lines.

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay. Good opportunities for initial advancement. Plenty of opportunities for Overtime. Good company with a good product. Inbound call center, which is better than outbound. I've had great managers for the most part. Supervisors/Team Leads have been hit and miss (some promoted because they were helpful and demonstrated leadership, others because they had been there since forever and knew a lot, but weren't very helpful or energetic).

    Cons

Lots of pressure to get leads. Even if you've always been great, you start the first few days of every week feeling stressed about getting those leads and reaching your minimum goal. It's usually not very hard, as the leads themselves are of great value to the client, and at no cost to the client. But it's still stressful. Also, it's a call center so... there's that.

    Advice to Management

Improve some of the policies, and try to lay off the pressure for leads. Maybe make it more important that reps are offering the service, rather than putting pressure on them to reach a goal that is dependent on the clients and calls they get.

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Like many places, ETrade has some wonderful people working for it. In general the atmosphere is relaxed except for those who ...

    Cons

must report to key individuals who have no business being in positions of authority in particular domains. As such, the UX group, in its infancy at the time, reported under the Operations group who, by nature, are reactive and showed no appreciation or willingness to understand the need for UX to research and plan strategy. As a result, much stress endued not only for UX but for product management as well.

    Advice to Management

It may have been done by now, but UX does not belong inside an operations group, a cadre responding to client complaints and reporting on operational metrics.

    Pros

The pay is very good. They even paid me to study for and take the 7 and the 63. Nice people, free caffeine, and upper management treat you like a colleague, not a plebe.

    Cons

Can be tough to get time off.

    Advice to Management

Revamp the CE program. It doesn't work for FSRs or for FCs.
