    Pros

I started as an Inter and it was very challenging, after a few months I was already doing reports for seniors managers and meeting directly with the clients.

    Cons

Its a small company, therefore, there is not much room to climb up in the company's structure.

    Advice to Management

Focus your eyes on the people, because they are who really makes the company succesful

    Pros

I thought the Arlington office was great. I met a few great people. The work environment is fast paced and a little cut throat, but you can't take it too seriously. You have to be "thick skinned" to work at ETRADE. They have a high level of expectation even for short-term staff.
Great location near Ballston Metro and accessible parking near the mall.
Plenty of restaurants to go to for lunch and dinner

    Cons

    No training for contract staff
Senior Management level staff can be very cold
Most of the consultants and non-marketing staff did not speak to you
Work like balance is challenging for full time staff, you are expected to work long hours
Staff is not provided with a lot of notice about layoffs or jobs transitioning to another location
Cubicle environment, only VPs in offices.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training to the Contingent/Contract staff
Better communication needed between leadership and staff
Stop laying off quality staff people as a way to reduce expenses

    Pros

Friendly and non-competitive at the lower level. People did their work and mind their business. There has been a major change in management. At one point, one VP pretty much ran the whole operations area and he was totally out of touch with how the departments actually worked. Over the last few years, E*Trade has brought in a much better management team with professionals from some major companies. You can slowly see the changes for the better.

    Cons

Little chance for advancement at the lower level. Salary is consistent meaning no big raises.

    Advice to Management

Have the different departments cross train with each other and I mean really sit down and work in that area for a period of time. At one point, E*Trade made the different departments within Operations present their business during lunch. I believe it was called, Lunch & Learn. This was a complete waste of time and people attended due to pressure from management. Nobody actually listen or retain information.
