Pros
Transnational environment fostering personal development.
Cons
International organization that can sometimes appear as complex.
Pros
Interesting sector with a large of subjects to discover
Good relationships with the co-workers coming from different European countries
Thriving company
Cons
The work is not always very exciting. The food could be better, especially on monday, when they don't have fish.
Advice to Senior Management
The management should definitely try to be provided with fish on Monday, so that the we could start the week in a pleasant and healthy way.
Pros
Interesting projects, good work/life balance, great location
Cons
Things take for ever to happen, management does not take decisions, no flexibility in work hours. Different departments/busines unitis don't work together you need to re-invent the wheel everytime you start a project, The different countries don't cooperate well.
Advice to Senior Management
pay more attention to your development teams, give more flexible time and patterns of work, try to motivate your employees more, allow greater mobility within teams. make sure the decisions you take are enforced at the lower levels on the work force. I often hear great ideas from the CTO but their implementation never reaches my team.
Pros
Flexible benifits package is good. ( An extra 6% of your salary to spend how you like on flexible benifits on top of some core benifits)
A reliable employer during economic turmoil.
Cons
Office atmosphere is not very lively or chatty.
Office desks and chairs are uncomfortable.
Advice to Senior Management
None.
Pros
It's space related, and it's big - so there are good projects to work on and lots of opportunity for relocating to other sites (if that is your thing).
While management is bad, the actual employees are very friendly and good to get along with.
Cons
Management lives in a different world from the engineers! Often engineers on projects are told to prioritize administrative work over the actual project work.
Human Resources work hard to impede anything, don't trust them for a second!
Totally open-office concept (except managers) makes it very hard to hear yourself think.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on the product (we are an engineering company) and leave the minutia aside (HR, tick boxes, etc).
Treat people the way you expect them to perform, i.e. treat them like idiots and you will get idiots or treat them like the experts they are and you will get expert work!
