I have been working at ECS Carolinas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Freedom for setting own schedule

    Cons

No company vehucles , a lot of wear and tare on my own vehicle that was costly to repair

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow workers to make a living wage and help more than the minimum for personal vehicle compensation. Also take into account new hires education level instead of giving the same base pay.

Good way to make money fast but get burnt out fast.

I have been working at ECS Carolinas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can make a lot of money fast if you're willing to sacrifice time elsewhere.

    Cons

Required certifications need to be completed within a strict time frame. Failure to do so results in pay cut then loss of job. Getting your certs in is not on the priority list of management until you are running down to your last few days. Also be prepared to dedicate more time to work than spending it at home. If you're single this is the best job to make money fast, otherwise be prepared to have your relationship suffer. Currently working 60-70hr weeks; 14-18hr days.

  3.

I gained a wide range of experiences, but overall the pressure to be billable was very stressful.

Former Employee - Environmental Scientist in Raleigh, NC

I worked at ECS Carolinas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Entry level employees are typically exposed to lots of different services and gain exposure to the wide ranging field of environmental consulting rapidly.

    Cons

Billability is highly tracked and all employees are expected to market and maintain clients, which can take away time from the required minimum billable hour expectations resulting in a lot of extra hours worked to meet goals. Upper management seems to be solely and laser focused on profitability and not much else. Work product quality, client relationships, professional development, and work-life balance all suffer as a result of the profit centered culture.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
