I have been working at ECS full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good exposure to industry. Good experience that may possibly lead to future opportunities.

    Cons

Stressful working at the client site. Most work could be completed offsite and be more efficient. Less training and growth opportunities than initially discussed. Salary is low for the position and location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the team has minimal contact with management and is somewhat disconnected from the company.

    I worked at ECS

    Pros

Met a few cool people there and the hours were good. 7am-330.

    Cons

Procedures for doing certain projects changes daily. Seems like they aren't doing their job throoughly enough, but only doing what is necessary to look good. I think it has potential to be a good company, but there's too many people coming and going so there i don't think everyone is being trained properly and soemtimes things are put through just to get account out of a past due status. They could have a good company, if they had better communication, also.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find people that care about what they are doing and keep them so thinkgs are done right the first time, There are too many people going through there and it seems like not everyone has the same information regarding the processes of certain projects. I wish someone would have actually shown me what happens when things are done on the ocmputer so I could have a better understanding of what I'm doing and why it has to be done a certain way.

ECS supports my personal and professional growth far better than any other company I have worked for.

I have been working at ECS full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Employee owned company with profit sharing. Varied customer base and service lines, with in house training department. Exceptional service line diversity for a mid-sized company. There is nothing holding you back at ECS. Your opportunities are only limited by your imagination.

    Cons

Management has a difficult time establishing clear expectations. Poor performance is tolerated far longer than it should be. Excellent performance is not recognized quickly enough. Communication could be much better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communication and consistency are key

I have been working at ECS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Management provides many opportunities to explore various aspects of consulting and allows employees to design their own career path and specialization. Educational benefits are excellent, given you have sufficient time to take advantage of them.

    Cons

Salaries have generally remained stagnant and promotions often do not come with additional pay, though the level of responsibility increases.

I worked at ECS full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice holiday party. Very responsive HR department. Leaving.

    Cons

Sub average to average salaries, benefits and little to no work life balance. ECS is a butts in seats beltway bandit even though it bills itself as a consulting firm. If you are a new entrant into the workforce ECS may work for you. If you are an experienced (more than say 3 years) stay away, stay far far away. There is no career advancement path, no mentoring and the execs only seem concerned with keeping the books profitable for a sale in the next couple of years. Employees are cogs and expected to feel lucky you are a cog. This is a horrible company and should be avoided at all costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not even going to bother. ECS is a horrible company with no leadership vision other than to sell as soon as possible for as much as possible.
